Flipboard Brings More News to the Fediverse
Today, we’re federating the profiles of nine U.S. media sites, bringing their content to millions of people in the fediverse, a rapidly growing open-social network that Flipboard joined in December 2023. We’re on a mission to bring more high-quality journalism to this new ecosystem. This is especially important now as the world faces serious crises like Ukraine, Gaza and climate change — not to mention pivotal elections coming up this year in several countries.
Today’s move is part of a phased rollout to make all of our platform available to users of Mastodon, Threads and other services. As with previously federated publishers, this allows fediverse users to follow an entire publisher profile or just the specific topical Magazines that interest them.
