Before the parliament was in place there was a Legislative Council whose membership was purely European people. However, as time went by its membership increased, and Asians and Ugandans joined the council. The legislative council was formed in 1920.

In 1962, it was dissolved, and the national assembly which later became the Parliament of Uganda was put in place. This happened soon after Uganda’s independence. The national assembly speaker was a British lawyer called Sir John Bowes Griffin.

In the intricate tapestry of self-discovery, my hair journey began as a subtle thread during my university days. Little did I know that the decision to grow my hair out would unfold into a transformative experience that would not only redefine my personal identity but also spark a passion that would lead me to consider a venture into the world of hair products.

The Campus Chronicles:

As I navigated the challenges and triumphs of campus life, I decided to embark on a journey of hair growth. It was more than just letting my hair grow; it was a statement of embracing change and cultivating patience. The journey mirrored the transitions in my life, and each strand became a testimony to the evolving chapters of my personal narrative.

Youth Camp Discovery:

In the midst of my academic pursuits, a youth camp during my first-year holiday became a pivotal moment in my hair journey. Surrounded by the enthusiasm of fellow camp attendees, I found myself drawn to the art of hair braiding. Eager to learn, I immersed myself in the skill, discovering the joy of transforming strands into intricate patterns. Little did I know that this newfound skill would become a cornerstone in my evolving relationship with my hair.

From Novice to Braiding Maven:

The initial attempts at braiding were comical, to say the least. However, with practice and determination, I not only learned to braid my own hair but also became adept at styling others. The skill became a form of self-expression, allowing me to experiment with different looks and share the joy of transforming someone’s appearance with a simple twist of the fingers.

My beautiful hair

The Birth of Homegrown Treatments:

As my love for my hair deepened, so did my desire to nourish and care for it. This passion led me to explore the world of homegrown hair treatments. From DIY masks using natural ingredients to personalized oils, my experiments in my home “hair lab” became a ritual of self-care. The positive results fueled a newfound ambition — to share these creations with a wider audience.

Venturing into Business:

Inspired by the biblical wisdom that “hair is the crown of a woman,” I realized the potential to turn my passion into a business. The thought of creating a line of hair products, born from the lessons of my journey, began to take shape. The goal wasn’t just to offer effective products but to encourage a culture of self-love and acceptance through hair care.

Embrace Your Crown:

To all the ladies out there, I invite you to embrace your crown with love and pride. Our hair tells a unique story, and the journey of caring for it is a celebration of self. As I embark on this new chapter of potentially turning my passion into a business, I carry the lessons of my hair journey with me — patience, self-expression, and the importance of embracing our crowning glory with love.

I visit the Salon sometimes

Nail-biting, a habit many of us struggle with, can be a tough nut to crack. For years, it was a persistent challenge in my life, until a serendipitous encounter during my university days turned the tide. Today, as I look at my well-kept nails, I stand as a testament to the power of a simple remedy and the impact of supportive friendships. This is the story of my nail journey, a transformation that began in 2007 and continues to be a blessing.

The Habit:

Biting my nails was a habit deeply ingrained in my routine. It was a subconscious response to stress, anxiety, or sheer boredom. Despite numerous attempts to quit, the cycle seemed unbreakable, and my nails bore the consequences of this persistent habit.

The University Encounter:

Enter the university phase, a time of new beginnings and unexpected friendships. It was during this chapter of my life that I crossed paths with a friend who noticed my struggle with nail-biting. With genuine concern and a touch of humor, they suggested a remedy that would prove to be a game-changer — nail polish.

The Vanishing Act:

Armed with a bottle of nail polish, I began my journey to break free from the chains of nail-biting. The concept was simple yet effective: the bitter taste of the polish acted as a deterrent, discouraging me from mindlessly nibbling on my nails. The initial days were a challenge, but the gradual transformation was undeniable.

A Beautiful Transformation:

As weeks turned into months, I witnessed a remarkable change. Not only did my nails grow longer and stronger, but the habit that had haunted me for years began to fade away. The routine of applying nail polish became a self-care ritual, a reminder of my commitment to personal growth and breaking free from destructive habits.

A Blessing Since 2007:

Fast forward to the present day, and I can proudly declare that I have not bitten my nails since 2007. What once seemed like an insurmountable challenge became a testament to the power of a simple remedy and the encouragement of a friend. The blessing of well-kept nails goes beyond aesthetics; it symbolizes resilience, self-discipline, and the capacity for positive change.

My nail journey is a story of transformation and triumph over a habit that once seemed unconquerable. Through the support of a caring friend and the application of a small but effective remedy, I emerged with not just beautiful nails but also a newfound sense of self-control. To anyone battling a similar habit, know that change is possible, and sometimes, all it takes is a touch of color and the encouragement of a friend to lead you towards a blessing that lasts a lifetime.

Growing up in a community predominantly composed of boys, my childhood was a kaleidoscope of muddy knees, tree-climbing adventures, and an unabashed embrace of all things deemed “boyish.” The transformation that unfolded when I stepped onto the campus grounds marked a profound shift in my identity. It was a journey from the spirited tomboy of my youth to a woman discovering and embracing her feminine side.

In the close-knit community I called home, gender roles were fluid. I found myself effortlessly blending in with the boys, engaging in spirited games of football that left my sneakers caked in mud. Climbing trees became second nature, and I reveled in the freedom that came with not conforming to traditional notions of femininity. My wardrobe mirrored this carefree spirit, adorned with oversized jerseys and pants — a far cry from the frills and dresses typically associated with little girls.

As the day came for me to leave my childhood haven and step into the world of higher education, a wave of change swept over me. The campus atmosphere, diverse and vibrant, beckoned me to explore facets of myself that lay dormant beneath the tomboy exterior. Surrounded by a variety of influences, I felt an internal tug towards femininity, a side of myself I had largely overlooked.

One of the initial markers of my transformation was reflected in my wardrobe choices. The comfortable, boyish attire made way for dresses, skirts, and blouses. The colors transformed from earthy tones to a palette of soft pastels and vibrant hues. It wasn’t just a change in clothing; it was an outward expression of an evolving self-image, a deliberate embrace of the feminine energy that had always been a part of me.

Navigating the shift from tomboy to a more ladylike demeanor came with its share of challenges. The art of walking in heels felt like a dance with gravity, and the world of makeup was a vast, uncharted territory. Yet, with each stumble and smudged eyeliner, I found myself learning the delicate balance between strength and grace, a lesson that transcended the physical aspects of femininity.

The time with Makeup

As the months passed, I discovered that embracing my feminine side wasn’t about conforming to societal expectations but rather about honoring the multi-faceted nature of my identity. I could still enjoy a game of football or climb a tree while savoring the elegance that came with a well-chosen dress. The merging of these seemingly contrasting elements brought about a harmonious and authentic version of myself.

My journey from tomboy to a woman embracing her feminine side has been a tapestry woven with threads of self-discovery and acceptance. It’s a testament to the fluidity of identity and the beauty that arises when we allow ourselves to explore different facets of who we are. Today, as I navigate the world with a blend of strength and grace, I carry the lessons of my childhood adventures and campus transformation, a testament to the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of femininity.

In the realm of personal style and self-expression, few accessories hold the transformative power of a well-chosen pair of shoes. For me, footwear is not just a functional necessity; it’s a reflection of personality, mood, and a testament to the diverse facets of my fashion journey. From classic Converse All-Stars to elegant high heels and rugged boots, my collection tells a story of passion, style evolution, and the love affair I have cultivated with shoes.

It all began with the iconic Converse All-Star sneakers. Versatile, timeless, and effortlessly cool, these shoes were my gateway into the world of collecting. The canvas uppers, rubber soles, and the unmistakable star logo spoke to a laid-back, rebellious spirit that resonated with me. Whether paired with jeans or a dress, All-Stars became the foundation of my shoe obsession.

As my fashion tastes evolved, so did my shoe collection. Ballet flats, loafers, and espadrilles added a touch of laid-back charm to my shoe repertoire, proving that comfort and style can coexist.

The thrill of discovering a unique pair, the anticipation of unboxing a new purchase, and the joy of slipping into a perfect fit — each shoe shopping adventure is a chapter in my love story with footwear.

“God wants to redeem nations. His redemptive work on the cross is for nations as well as individuals. That’s why He said to go preach the gospel to all nations and to disciple nations. God eagerly awaits the redemption of the nations.” — Sunday Adelaja

Pastor Sunday Adelaja creates a picture for us of the power of the Church in causing transformation in the communities that God has put us in. He shows us how Christians can take responsibility of the entire societies and nations and not only winning souls. The church can cause transformation at home, work, in businesses and any other place that God positions us. He helps us understand the great commission through his story.

Pastor Sunday Adelaja moved to Ukraine from Nigeria and amidst all the oppressiveness and corrupt government, he was led to start a church in Kyiv the capital of Ukraine. Him and his congregation were involved in the Orange Revolution in 2004. They literally led a protest against the ruling government at the time. Through this book, he helps us understand that once we get born again, we shouldn’t just add to the church numbers but rather we should be added to the laborers because it says in Luke 10:2 NKJV: Then He said to them,” the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” I have always thought that the great commission is all about preaching the gospel get converts and add onto the church numbers but the church shift presents the great commission as an assignment to make disciples of all nations. Disciples who imitate Christ and ensure that the kingdom of God is established in every society.

Church should be perceived as the training ground for people who will influence the world around them. We should therefore be ready to take bold steps in order to disseminate heaven’s agenda of establishing God’s Kingdom here on earth. He says, “No other entity in the world is as important as the church, in spite of all its failures; it is the hope of God because through it, and only it, the Kingdom can come.” This indeed is a challenge to me and to the church in Uganda to raise up, and take action against any policies and injustices in our nation.

God has been teaching us that our mission as believers is to save nations, not just evangelize and build churches. God is not concerned with church sizes and ministries. These are all minimal to His main goal, which is for all nations to walk after Him in kingdom principles. The church fulfills its mandate when it changes society, not when it’s confined to its sanctuary and Sunday school classrooms. The church is to build the kingdom of God in a nation. The kingdom must overflow into streets and workplaces, governments and entertainment venues. That is its nature, to grow and take over. If you try to keep it to yourself, you lose It — Sunday Adelaja.

“God wants to redeem nations. His redemptive work on the cross is for nations as well as individuals. That’s why He said to go preach the gospel to all nations and to disciple nations. God eagerly awaits the redemption of the nations.” — Sunday Adelaja.

We must live our lives with the understanding that we represent God here on earth and the future of the nations is in the hands of the church. We must direct our nations by constantly declaring God’s standards. The redemption of my family, friends and workmates relays on me, on my actions. If I am to further the Heaven’s agenda, I must have the kingdom agenda at heart and it should be portrayed in all I say or do.

Pastor Sunday goes ahead to share some insights in finding our purpose and he phrases it as finding the promised land. Finding our purpose here on earth is very important if we are going to cause any significant change in our communities and as a result the world. To be an effective gospel preacher one must find their territory, where they are naturally graceful and fruitful. In that area is where you use your gift effectively. He advises that our purpose is where our passion lies; the things that stir up a supernatural hunger and desire to improve the situation. He points out that our gifts, which are not limited to the walls of the church, are meant to serve other people. We must therefore seek to grow in our area of gifting which may sometimes be outside of our area of training. We must therefore learn to walk in obedience to God’s voice and direction while continually seeking to grow in our gifts and talents, otherwise we risk stagnation or misuse of the gifts for lack of knowledge. This surely is a challenge to me to continue exploring the gifts I have and grow in the understanding of God’s purpose for my life so as to be effective in ministering to others. As we focus on our promised land we should be aware of the dangers of focusing entirely on building oneself instead of building the Kingdom of God. If we lose the sight of the big picture which is to manifest the Kingdom of God, we might end up manipulating other people for our gain since we are focusing on building our own small kingdoms. This reminds me of the fights that go on amongst some religious leaders in our communities. They fight and compete on who has the biggest church both in number of congregants and also building. They fight for the anointing (on who is more anointed), pointing out on who is real and who is fake among others. As a church in Uganda, we should strive to portray God’s Kingdom principles and have a genuine love for God’s people.

“Success in God’s kingdom does not come just by finding your promised land, educating yourself, and becoming kingdom minded. It comes by putting those principles into practice with great effort and diligence. One of the most neglected ingredients in many Christians’ lives is plain hard work.” — Sunday Adelaja

Pastor Sunday points out that as Christians, we have to work hard in order to successfully extend the kingdom of God. We have been given a blessing of work through which we subdue and have dominion over the earth. God blesses us through work, work creates an avenue for God to bless us. As a Christian I have to work hard and have a number of stores that God can use to bless me and help me advance His kingdom.

As the Apostles faced persecution, we as Christians that are finding the promised land and spreading the gospel, shall also encounter persecution. The Christian journey is not always a smooth ride. Every time we step into our promised land, we must expect to fight battles because the devil will always fight to keep us from fulfilling our purpose. The good news is that our God indeed works all things together for our own good (Romans 8:28). Through these battles just like with persecution, God trains us and develops our character. He allows problems and hardships in our lives in order to strengthen our spirits and teach us to put our trust in Him instead of putting it in our own strength. Pastor Sunday says that persecution is part of the Christian lifestyle, expect it, and rejoice in it as you grow into the stature of a mighty man or woman of God.

To conquer and dwell in our promised land, we must choose to take responsibility for it and not rely on other leaders. We must exert our power, become godly leaders and actively take the land just as Moses did. The Church, Pastor Sunday says is not a place to entertain believers but rather to raise up world changers and history makers. I as a person, must grow into a strong leader who will raise other strong firm leaders that will cause significant transformation in our communities and later nations as a result.

The world is waiting for me to find my promised land and deliver people from the kingdom of darkness. We all have our own promised lands, commissioned to us from God, those special areas in society that desperately need our help.

In the rich tapestry of culinary experiences, some combinations transcend the realm of mere sustenance, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on the taste buds. For me, that divine trio is the harmonious fusion of matooke, gnuts (groundnuts), and succulent pork ribs. Join me on a gastronomic journey as we explore the delectable world of these culinary delights.

At the heart of my culinary affection lies matooke, a staple in East African cuisine. Derived from green bananas, matooke is a versatile and nutritious base that can be prepared in various forms. Whether steamed, boiled, or mashed, the subtle sweetness and starchy goodness of matooke form the foundation of my favorite meal. Its ability to absorb flavors makes it a perfect canvas for the other elements of this culinary symphony.

Groundnuts, or gnuts as they are affectionately known, bring a rich and nutty undertone to this culinary masterpiece. Whether crushed into a creamy sauce or sprinkled as a garnish, gnuts add a delightful crunch and a depth of flavor that complements the softness of matooke. The earthy notes of gnuts create a harmonious balance that elevates the overall taste experience.

No culinary journey is complete without a protein element, and for me, the pièce de résistance is succulent pork ribs. Slow-cooked to perfection, the ribs boast a tantalizing combination of smokiness, tenderness, and a flavorful marriage of spices. The savory richness of the pork ribs introduces a hearty dimension to the dish, making it a satisfying and indulgent feast for the senses.

Picture this: a plate adorned with a mound of steamed matooke, generously drizzled with a velvety groundnut sauce, and accompanied by a side of perfectly seasoned and grilled pork ribs. The colors, textures, and aromas converge to create a visual and olfactory feast, inviting you to savor each bite.

Beyond the tantalizing flavors, this culinary trio holds a cultural significance that adds depth to the dining experience. Matooke, gnuts, and pork ribs are emblematic of celebrations, gatherings, and the rich culinary heritage of East Africa. It’s not just a meal; it’s a cultural bridge that connects me to traditions, memories, and a sense of community.

As I sit down to savor a plate adorned with the culinary marvel of matooke, gnuts, and pork ribs, I am reminded that food is not just about nourishment; it’s about the joy of discovery and the celebration of diverse flavors. This trio, born from cultural roots and personal preferences, exemplifies the beauty of gastronomy as a sensory journey that satisfies not only the palate but also the soul. So, here’s to the culinary bliss found in the simplicity of matooke, the crunch of gnuts, and the savory perfection of pork ribs — a symphony of flavors that will forever hold a special place in my heart and on my plate.

Human beings are naturally lazy and always choose the easier paths. Easy choices and decisions can bring good results but not great results. Maybe our businesses or jobs are not great just because we are okay with them being just good. While studying English, we were taught that good can become better and then go on to become best. So we can move from settling for good and make things great. Jim Collins, together with other people analyzed how good companies can become great and why other companies just stay at mediocre levels.

The good to great journey involves getting the right leader and the right team, it involves understanding brutal facts, and creating a set of core values and it also involves creating a robust culture where the right people will work within the defined core values with the appropriate freedom.

For a company to become great, it needs to have a level 5 leader. I have recently opened up a surveying company with my other 2 colleagues. For it to thrive and stand the test of time to exist for over 10 years, we need to first think about the success of the company before we think about getting rich. We need to think about how to make the company known and established in the industry. We need to be modest and humble enough to learn from those who have been around way before us. As we run the company, we also need to think about the succession of the company, literally think of how the company will remain running without us in the picture.

The first who…then what concept emphasizes that the right team needs to be determined to achieve success. As a new company, we need to identify or build up the right team that will drive the company in the right direction. The author points out that the people should join the team before the strategies and visions are set so that they are involved in setting the strategy and determining the direction of the people. Such people tend to stick around longer than those who come in when everything has been set. The writer brings this out by using the analogy of ‘getting right people on the bus AND getting wrong people off the bus’ and it is the ‘wrong people off the bus’ that is important. The writer gives us 3 practical ways that help in making people decisions:

When in doubt, don’t hire and keep looking.

When you know that you need to make a change, act.

Put your best people on your biggest opportunities, not your biggest problems.

The right people on the team will not require close supervision or motivation all the time. They will always be able to generate the required results within the stipulated timelines. A conducive environment can be created for the hardworking people so that they can thrive and then the lazy people can be let go.

One of the most important steps towards becoming a great company is to create an environment where the facts are heard, and where the truth can be aired out. Companies need to first confront reality, like what exactly is happening in the industry before making great decisions. When you start from a point of view of determining the exact situation on the ground, then you are bound to make the right and best decisions. Jim Collins gives us 4 ways that can help us create an environment where the truth is heard and these are;

Lead with questions, not answers.

Engage in dialogue and debate, not coercion.

When mistakes happen, conduct autopsies without blame.

Build “red flag” mechanisms to gather critical feedback.

It’s essential to strike a balance between confronting the most brutal facts of your current reality and retaining absolute faith that you can and will prevail. This is referred to as the Stockdale Paradox, and it’s vital for leading a company from good to great.

In surveying, there are several disciplines, as a company we need to identify which discipline we are passionate about and run with that. Is it topographic surveys, cadastral surveys, engineering surveys, or hydrographic surveys? We need to identify what we are passionate about and what we are best at. Not only that but also know what is driving the economy at the moment. Since there is a lot of infrastructure development on going around the country, we could decide to go the engineering surveying way or any other depending on what we find out and conclude on. As a starting/ growing company, we need to be able to say no to opportunities that don’t fit our passions and what we are not good at.

In the surveying profession, technology has evolved over-time. Right from using plane tables to theodolites, then total stations, to Real Time Kinematic (RTK) machines, and now laser measuring machines are in play. For the growth of our company, we need to diligently know what technology accelerates and sets momentum for the company. We need to start with the technology that best fits our hedgehog concept. We need to use the technology that will take us to the next level. We need to focus on being excellent in what we do or going to do. The writer points out that Good-to-great organizations avoided technology bandwagons, yet they became pioneers in the application of carefully selected technologies. The thoughtless pursuit of technology is a liability, not an asset.

Imagine trying to move a huge heavy flywheel mounted horizontally on an axle. Any effort to get it rotating necessarily starts with some effort and minimal movement. However, so long as you continue pushing in the same direction, the task becomes easier as the wheel builds momentum. The same is true when it comes to running a business or starting a company. As you build momentum in a clear well-defined direction, the challenges around the organizational commitment, alignment, and motivation begin to melt away. Somehow they essentially take care of themselves as the team members start seeing visible and tangible results as they build up over time.

Unfortunately, the companies they researched on, were not able to build momentum because they did not focus on one strategy. They kept moving back and forth between various strategies instead of making steady progress in one direction. As a result, they fell into what is called The Doom Loop. This is because the companies tried to skip the buildup process and jump straight into a breakthrough. When they would get disappointing results, they would move back and forth trying to try out different strategies and thus getting stuck in the downward spiral of trying out new things.

Each concept of the Good To Great system reinforces the other to form an integrated whole. The initial buildup begins with Level 5 Leadership, getting the right people on the bus, and confronting the brutal facts. Eventually, the Hedgehog Concept comes into focus, and then breakthrough results can begin with a culture of discipline and effective use of technology. the guidelines for becoming great and staying great are quite straightforward. Creating greatness can be achieved through creating something I believe in, something that adds value to my life.

The outstanding rulers of Babylon are still being talked about and read about because of their wisdom, enterprise, and justice. They always shared their knowledge amongst their friends, teaching those willing to listen and learn as well as those who sought their advice because it costs nothing to seek wise counsel from a good friend. The city of Babylon was full of rich people at some point because its citizens learned the laws that govern the building of wealth and on their way to success, they always moved with their friends thus enabling most of them to have a desire of being wealthy and possess some wealth. Wealth is power. The riches of Babylon were the result of the wisdom of its people.

Arkad, the richest man in Babylon learned a principle from Algamish, the money lender that a part of all he earned was his and it should not be less than a tenth no matter how little he earned. As Arkad, we all have the desire to become rich but lack the principles of handling wealth issues. In most cases, we earn and spend and never pay ourselves for anything.

Back in 2012, when I had just started working, a friend of mine talked to me and told me to pay myself every month when we get paid. So I resorted to buying myself something per month say a pair of shoes, a dress, jewelry thinking that I was paying myself. I was very happy with myself that I did that for a long time. After some time this same colleague asked me how I was fairing in paying myself and he realized I hadn’t gotten the point so he told me in another version, “Barbara you need to save a percentage of your earnings.” Now that was a hard paper because all the time it felt like the salary was very insufficient with all the needs I had to meet. For my first 3 years of being employed, I had nothing to show for it and even when I started the saving part in pain still I didn’t gain much from it. I didn’t know about wealth creation and I never sought advice from those who were competent through their own experiences.

For the next years after that, I learned what was stated by George S. Clason that if one is to become wealthy then what one saves must earn and its children must earn as well as the children’s children. Paying self-first is the way to go.

As a youth, I always found myself in awkward situations where I would spend more than what I earned, I would always be in debt. I always lived beyond what I earned and I never let money work for me, I always worked for money. The money would be spent even before it hit the bank account so my wallet was at most times empty. It’s not full all the time, so I am to take up the seven cures for a lean purse. I am going to utilize my source of wealth, which is providing surveying services and for each coin I earn, I will tithe, save, and spend the rest of the percentage of the earnings remaining. The savings should be invested in substantial belongings. I have a habit of dealing with everything/anything as it comes so I never plan or budget and usually my “necessary expenses always grow to equal my income. I am going to budget for my expenses so that I may have money to pay for the necessities, to pay for my enjoyment, and to gratify my worthwhile desires without spending more than nine-tenths of my earnings. I am making a budget so that I have a first assistant in defending fattening my purse.

It is stated that gold/money in a purse never earns anything. A man’s wealth is in the income he builds not in the coins he carries in his purse. I am to put each coin to labor so that it may reproduce its kind and help bring to me income, a stream of wealth that shall follow constantly into my purse. I am to invest my savings wisely after seeking counsel from those with experience. I have invested in someventures, some have brought back returns and others nothing, so I will guard my treasure from loss by investing only where my principal is safe; where it may be reclaimed if desirable, and where I will not fail to collect a fair profit. The first sound principle of investment is security for your principal.

Investment can be done even where you stay, preferably if it’s your own home and not renting. For example, I like farming, I have my own home with some space in the back more like a backyard. I am planning to start carrying out modern farming in my backyard so that I can make some profits from my passion. Making your dwelling a profitable investment is more likely to happen and easier to achieve when you own your own home with no restrictions. I am looking forward to investing in advance for the needs of my growing age, protection of my family, and increasing my ability to earn. I have learned that wealth is accumulated first in small sums, then in larger ones as a man learns and becomes more capable.

We all have the desire to become wealthy and any idea that is presented to us that seems like it will help us achieve our goal so fast, we embrace it. I have been a victim of ‘the quick get rich schemes’ where I have lost money terribly — not knowing that wealth that comes quickly goes the same way. Anyway, I didn’t gain at all from the online get-rich schemes.

We have colleagues with whom we have studied and after school, you find that these fellows are way ahead of you in wealth accumulation and you keep wondering how they did it. At some point you start telling yourself that they are lucky people and luck is on their side. George S. Clason has enlightened me through his book by clarifying that to attract good luck to oneself, it is necessary to take advantage of opportunities. One has to throw out procrastination which is described as a habit of needless delaying where action is required, action prompt and decisive. It is the first step which changes men from men who earn from their own labor to men who draw dividends from the earnings of their money is important. Good luck can be enticed by accepting opportunity and Men of action are favored by good luck.

Our wise acts accompany us through life to please and help us. Our unwise acts follow us to plague and torment us. To him who is without knowledge of the five laws, money comes not often and goes away quickly. But to him who abides by the five laws, money comes and works as his dutiful slave. The five laws of money/gold are as follows;

• Money comes gladly and in increasing quantity to any man who will put not less than one-tenth of his earnings to create an estate for his future and that of his family

• Money labors diligently and contentedly for the wise owner who finds for it profitable employment, multiplying even as the flocks of the field. Money is a willing worker, ever eager to multiply.

• Money clings to the protection of the cautious owner who invests it under the advice of men wise in its handling.

• Money slips away from the man who invests it in businesses or purposes with which he is not familiar or which are not approved by those skilled in its keep.

• Money flees the man who would force it to impossible earnings or who follows the alluring advice of tricksters and schemers or who trusts it to his own inexperience and romantic desires in investments.

One has to cultivate their powers; study and become wiser to become more skillful to so acting as to respect oneself.
