            <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I know that BART parking can be a bit difficult to understand at times, so I’m here to simplify it for you.</p><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/800/1*jqx-5UAGCEAbLlNGs42gSQ@2x.jpeg" /><figcaption>Original Photo by <a href="https://unsplash.com/@snakeeyes3599?utm_source=medium&amp;utm_medium=referral">Logan Walker</a> on <a href="https://unsplash.com?utm_source=medium&amp;utm_medium=referral">Unsplash</a></figcaption></figure><blockquote>*FAILURE TO VALIDATE MAY RESULT IN A CITATION*</blockquote><blockquote>BART PARKING IS FREE ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS</blockquote><p><strong>Daily Parking:</strong></p><ul><li>Spots are available on a first-come/first-served basis.</li><li>Prices vary and are posted at each station.</li><li>Pay for parking after you enter the station through the fare gates but pay <strong>BEFORE</strong> you take your BART ride.</li><li>Parking payment required Monday - Friday 4am-3pm.</li><li>Parking is free if you arrive after 3pm and leave before 4am.</li><li>Any parking spot with a number on the ground must be paid for or you risk getting a fine for non payment (ADA accessible parking spaces included).</li></ul><p><strong>There are 3 ways to pay for parking:</strong></p><ol><li><strong>Clipper Card with EZ Rider Parking</strong></li></ol><ul><li>You must <strong>first</strong> set up an EZ Rider Parking account with a credit/debit card and your Clipper Card serial number at <a href="https://ezrider.bart.gov/ezrider/">https://ezrider.bart.gov/ezrider</a>.</li><li>After you register you will receive a hang tag to display in your car.</li><li>Tag your Clipper card at a Parking Validation Machine after entering the fare gate.</li><li>The parking fare will <strong>only</strong> be deducted from your EZ Rider account on the days that you park and tag the Clipper parking machine.</li></ul><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/440/1*-KD_o9NxSSBOm4yGXgqK9g.gif" /></figure><p><strong>2. Visit <a href="http://www.select-a-spot.com/">www.Select-a-Spot.com</a> to reserve a parking spot.</p><p><strong>Monthly Reserved Permit Parking</strong></p><ul><li>Permit parking allows riders the ability to park within the permit parking area close to the station Monday-Friday 4am-10 a.m (After 10am these stalls become “Fee” spaces and are open to the public).</li><li>Permits are station specific and cost between $30 and $115.50 per month.</li><li>Buy your Monthly Reserved Permit online now at <a href="http://www.select-a-spot.com/bart/">Select-a-Spot</a>.</li><li>All permit users are required to display a valid parking permit through the front windshield of the vehicle with the permit facing outward and clearly displaying the permit number.</li></ul><p><strong>Single Day Reserved Permit Parking</strong></p><ul><li>Allows riders to purchase a reserved permit for single days and park in the “Permit” Reserved area between 4am-10am.</li><li>You must print out your permit for each day of your reservation and display it in the front windshield of you vehicle with the permit number visible.</li><li>The cost varies by station .</li><li>You can make a reservation just before you need to use it.</li><li>Buy your Single Day Reserved Permit online at <a href="http://www.select-a-spot.com/bart/">Select-a-Spot</a>.</li></ul><p><strong>Electric Vehicle Single Day Reserved Permit Parking — Warm Springs/South Fremont Station Only</strong></p><ul><li>Use of the electricity to charge your vehicle is free, but permits are required ($6.00 per day).</li><li>Get your permit at <a href="https://www.select-a-spot.com/bart/">select-a-spot</a> and choose Single Day Reserved.</li><li>Vehicles must be plugged in to use these parking spaces.</li><li>Payment is required Monday-Friday 4am-3pm.</li><li>For more about the pilot program, please click <a href="https://www.bart.gov/news/articles/2017/news20170424-0">here</a>.</li><li>For frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the pilot program, please click <a href="http://www.bart.gov/sites/default/files/docs/EV%20FAQ%2053017.pdf">here</a>.</li><li>For additional questions or comments on the electric vehicle pilot program please email <a href="mailto:BARTEVPilot@bart.gov">BARTEVPilot@bart.gov</a>.</li></ul><p><strong>Airport/Long Term Permit Parking</strong></p><ul><li>Permits can be purchased for periods of up to 30 days.</li><li>Permits allow you to park in the station’s “Permit” reserved area Monday-Friday 4am-10am.</li><li>After 10am the “Permit” reserved area is open to the general public.</li><li>This is the only permit that allows parking in excess of 24 consecutive hours and is subject to parking charges for weekends and holidays depending upon the start and end date of the reservation.</li><li>You must print out your permit for your reservation and display the permit in the front windshield of the vehicle with the permit number visible.</li><li>For security purposes, these permits will only display the date of the first day of the permit reservation and enforcement officers will verify the permit duration electronically.</li><li>Buy your (APLT) Airport/Long Term Reserved Permit online at <a href="http://www.select-a-spot.com/bart/">Select-a-Spot</a>.</li><li>Permits are not available for purchase at any of the BART stations and can only be purchased online prior to arriving at the station.</li></ul><p><strong>(APLT) Airport / Long Term Weekend and BART designated Holiday Exception:</strong></p><p>(APLT) Airport / Long Term reservations are subject to parking charges throughout the online reservation <strong>including </strong>BART designated holidays and weekends. Reservations beginning or ending on a BART designated holiday or weekend are not charged for parking on that day. (APLT) Airport / Long Term permits can <strong>only</strong> be purchased online.</p><p><strong>Other BART Parking Policies</strong></p><p><strong>24-hour weekday time limit</strong></p><p>There is a 24-hour weekday time limit on parking in all BART lots unless you have a long term parking permit. Vehicles left in BART parking facilities for more than 24 hours will be subject to fine.</p><p><strong>Extended Weekend Parking</strong></p><p>Parking is free during the weekends (after 3pm Friday until 4am Monday) and on BART designated holidays at all BART parking facilities. The 24 hour rule for leaving your vehicle is waived during these times. This means you may leave your vehicle at a BART parking facility throughout these times.</p><p><strong>Oversized Vehicle Restrictions</strong></p><p>Vehicles or combinations of vehicles that exceed 6.5 feet in width, or 19 feet in length or 3 tons in weight may not be driven through, left standing or parked in any BART parking facility. Vehicles found in violation of the size restrictions may be cited or towed.</p><p><strong>Motorcycle Parking</strong></p><p>Motorcycles may park free of charge in designated motorcycle parking areas. If you park in a numbered stall in the daily fee area, the parking fee is required from 4am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.</p><p><strong>Parking Holidays</strong></p><p><strong>Excluding</strong> Airport / Long Term Parking Permit reservations, parking permits &amp; fees are not enforced on the following holidays:</p><ul><li>New Year’s Day</li><li>Veterans Day</li><li>Thanksgiving</li><li>Christmas</li><li>Martin Luther King Day</li><li>Presidents Day</li><li>Memorial Day</li><li>Independence Day</li><li>Labor Day</li></ul><p>If New Year’s Day or Christmas fall on a Sunday, then the following Monday (December 26 and January 2) will be considered a parking holiday.</p><p><strong>Parking Fee Increases</strong></p><p>BART’s policy is to adjust rates every 6 months by $0.50 if a facility is over 95% occupied, up to a $3 daily fee maximum (except West Oakland).</p><p><strong>Parking Lot Estimated Fill Times</strong></p><p>Please consult each <a href="http://www.bart.gov/stations">station page</a> for estimated fill times.</p><p><a href="https://www.wageworks.com/"><strong>WageWorks</strong></a><strong>, </strong><a href="http://commutercheck.com/Home"><strong>Commuter Checks</strong></a><strong> and </strong><a href="http://tranben.com/"><strong>TranBen</strong></a></p><p>These agencies make it possible to pay for parking on a pre-tax basis. Each one has a slightly different program than the other. In some cases they pay on your behalf and provide the appropriate information for your parking account to be properly credited.</p><p>In any case, it is your responsibility to make sure that the correct information is provided to the BART parking vendor to properly credit your account.</p><p>To ensure proper credit to your parking account, the check making the payment on your behalf must visibly include:</p><ul><li>Your name</li><li>Parking permit number</li><li>Station</li><li>License number</li><li>Be made payable to Impark</li></ul><img src="https://medium.com/_/stat?event=post.clientViewed&referrerSource=full_rss&postId=dcbb43527d40" width="1" height="1" alt="">]]></content:encoded>
