Our whole business is based around disrupting the old school motor industry model. We want to diminish the idea of companies adding layers of additional costs and a headline price that ‘does not change at checkout’.

The process starts with going onto our website, picking one of our cars available, choosing your favourite colour and then selecting a plan that suits you ranging from 12–48 months. Here comes the exciting part, the price shown is the price that you pay. No extras are added and warranty and home delivery are free!

The issue with headline prices on the car supermarket and car dealer websites is that they are based on older customers with excellent credit ratings. Dealers make most of their money from finance, and not the car. At Driver1, we make our money from the car (because we cut out the dealer) and we reduce the finance commission to be far better and cheaper for the end customer. We are putting young drivers first and reducing the cost for them.

At the end of the day, we are far cheaper than everyone else for exactly the same car. This is why we are launching our lowest price guarantee on all the cars that we offer. The reason we are the cheapest is because we have a vending machine of cars. We don’t hold onto stock like other dealerships do. We have a constant supply of cars coming into us which means that we only hold onto cars for a couple of days before sending them off to one of our young drivers. This put simply means we don’t lose money like other dealerships.

We are the very first company to design a young driver specific PCP product with a low APR rate. We have designed our whole service around drivers under the age of 25 and spent time working with lenders on a custom built PCP finance product specifically for young drivers.

We are all about helping young drivers stay safe whilst in their cars which is all anyone really wants.

Leasing out a car is when you put down a deposit of your choice on a car and then pay a monthly fee for either 24, 36 or 48 months. The higher the deposit, the lower the monthly cost and vise versa. It’s a little bit like taking out a phone contract in the way that you sign a contract and instead of paying a crazy amount of money upfront, you get to spread it out across however many months you want. It’s one of the best options for us young drivers because not many of us have loads of money in the bank and don’t have enough to just buy whatever we want. All of our cars have some sort of safety feature in, most of our cars have a lot of safety features meaning you’ll be able to drive knowing you’re in a car that is looking out for you as long as you look out for it.

I’m a young driver myself, I’m 17 and only passed my test a few months ago so I know the struggles of finding a car that looks nice, drives nice and is cheap to insure.
