Each chief of Liberia used to sell diamonds worth two billion dollars a year, but then the country fell into a civil war. And so came the time when the people of the capital were forced to live without running water and electricity for two years, the warlords created a child army, shooting ten-year-old boys and training ten-year-old girls for prostitution. Granted, the warlords in Liberia used to give two options to the people of the opposing tribe, "You usually black your face with your sister or mother, then cut off one of your arms, and the whole town watched with open eyes." Even the world was forced to name this country as a global graveyard. Two million barrels of oil came out of Angola every day. It was also the second largest diamond center in the world. It was more than Indonesia and Pakistan, but then it also got involved in civil war and foreign conflicts and these conflicts "ate its 2 million people" and the country’s economy suffered a loss of 40 billion dollars and this country has also become the graveyard of the world today. Coffee is the world’s second largest trade and the Nile is the world’s largest river.

Broken life….

Saeed Jaffrey divorced his first wife, Madhur Jaffrey, to marry his second wife, Jennifer. However, the experienced actor won hearts with his heartbreaking regret. This realization came to light a few years after his passing on July 30, 2019.

From the diary of Bollywood's famous character actor, Saeed Jaffrey:

I was 19 when I married Mehrunima, who was 17. As I grew older, I became greatly influenced by British culture in colonial India. I learned to speak English fluently, wear suits with style, and mastered impeccable manners. But Mehrunima grew up very differently – domestic, a traditional housewife. All my advice and suggestions couldn’t change her core personality – she remained a dutiful wife, a loving mother, and a good homemaker. But she wasn’t what I wanted. The more I tried to change her, the further apart we grew. Gradually, she transformed from a cheerful young girl into a quiet, insecure woman. Meanwhile, I started getting attracted to one of my fellow actresses because she had everything I wanted in my wife. After 10 years of marriage, I divorced Mehrunima, left my home, and married my fellow actress. I ensured Mehrunima and my children were financially secure. For about 6-7 months, everything seemed fine. Then I began to realize that my new wife was neither caring nor loving. She only cared about her beauty, ambitions, desires, and needs. Sometimes, I missed Mehrunima's caring touch and her concern for my well-being.

Life moved on. My new wife and I lived under one roof, but it lacked a soul. I never tried to find out what had happened to Mehrunima and my children. About 6-7 years into my second marriage, I came across an article about a rising celebrity chef, Madhur Jaffrey, who had recently launched a cookbook. The moment I saw the picture of this intelligent, beautiful woman, I was stunned. It was Mehrunima. But how was this possible??? She had remarried and even changed her first name.

At the time, I was shooting abroad. She was now living in the USA. I took the next available flight to the U.S. I investigated where she was and went to meet her. She refused to see me. My daughter, who was 14, and my son, who was 12, told her they wanted to speak to me one last time. Her new husband stood by her side. He was now the legal father of my children. To this day, I can’t forget what my children told me. They said their new father understood the true meaning of love. He broke the cage of negativity. He accepted Mehrunima for who she was and never tried to make her into what he wanted. He loved her more than himself. He let her grow at her own pace and never imposed his desires on her. He embraced her as an individual and enjoyed her for who she was. Today, under the selfless love and acceptance of her second husband, she had become a confident, loving, and self-reliant woman.

Where I had been full of selfishness, my demands and lack of acceptance had crushed her, and in my selfishness, I had lost her. I had continued to build a cage of negativity. The biggest lesson of my life:

"You don't change the people you love, you love them just the way they are..."

This style, often characterized by sharp tailoring and timeless patterns, is prominently featured in the latest collections from brands like Burberry, Schiaparelli, and Miu Miu. These fashion houses are embracing the trend with plaid coats, structured blazers, and refined silhouettes that evoke a sense of sophistication and tradition. The mix of heritage patterns and contemporary cuts offers a perfect balance for those who want to stay ahead in fashion while maintaining a nod to timeless style.

All-Jeans Outfits: Denim Takes the Spotlight

Alongside this preppy aesthetic, one of the standout trends this season is the rise of denim in full, head-to-toe looks. All-jeans outfits are becoming a key statement, offering versatility and a casual, yet chic, approach to fashion. Denim's rugged texture contrasts beautifully with preppy pieces, allowing for an effortless blend of styles. Whether it’s pairing a denim jacket with sharp trousers or layering a jean shirt under a plaid blazer, this trend offers endless possibilities for creative expression. As preppy and denim trends take center stage, they offer a unique fusion of classic charm and contemporary cool.

Cat-eye

The classic cat-eye liner has long been a go-to for a bold and sophisticated makeup look, but there’s a new trend that’s captivating beauty enthusiasts worldwide: the puppy eyeliner, a softer and more youthful alternative that originated in Korean makeup trends. Unlike the cat-eye, which flicks upwards at the outer corner of the eye, the puppy eyeliner curves downward, giving the eyes a rounder, more innocent appearance.

The key to achieving the puppy-eye look is in the shape. Instead of creating a sharp, angled wing that lifts the eye, the eyeliner is gently dragged downwards towards the cheekbone. This creates a subtle droop at the outer corner, mimicking the way a puppy’s eyes naturally slope down. The effect is wide, round, and doe-eyed—perfect for a softer, more natural look that still adds definition.

What makes this trend so appealing is its versatility. It’s flattering on various eye shapes, particularly for those with almond or monolid eyes, as it enhances the natural curve without needing dramatic angles. It also pairs beautifully with minimal, dewy makeup, another staple of Korean beauty.

To create this look, start with a thin line close to the lash line, then gently extend it outward and down at the outer corner. You can soften the line with a smudging brush for a more blended effect, or keep it crisp for a defined finish. Whether you're aiming for a daytime look or something more playful, puppy eyeliner adds a fresh, charming twist to your makeup routine.

Tap — don’t rub — perfume on your wrists.
tapping perfume on wrists

When applying perfume, many people instinctively rub their wrists together. However, this practice can diminish the fragrance’s longevity and alter its scent. Instead, it’s better to tap your perfume onto your wrists rather than rub them together.

Perfumes are composed of delicate layers of top, middle, and base notes. The top notes are the lightest and most volatile, while the base notes last the longest. Rubbing your wrists together generates friction and heat, which can break down the top notes more quickly. This not only shortens the fragrance's lifespan but may also distort the overall scent, preventing it from developing as intended by the perfumer.

Tapping the fragrance onto your wrists, on the other hand, avoids this friction, allowing the perfume to settle naturally on your skin. It gives the scent time to unfold gradually, enhancing its complexity and longevity. This method also preserves the integrity of the fragrance, ensuring that all the notes are released as intended.

To apply perfume correctly, spray a small amount on one wrist and then gently tap or press your wrists together. You can also tap behind your ears, on your neck, or on pulse points for better distribution without compromising the fragrance's composition. This technique ensures your perfume lasts longer and smells exactly as it should throughout the day.

It’s particularly useful for those last-minute situations when you can’t fit in a full wash. By soaking up excess oil, it can give the appearance of cleaner, more voluminous hair in just a few quick sprays.

However, you may be able to get even more out of your dry shampoo by applying it before going to bed. According to April Franzino, Good Housekeeping's Beauty Director, using dry shampoo at night allows the product to work overnight. "I like using it before bed," Franzino shares. "Hair will absorb it as you sleep and you'll look refreshed in the morning."

This method works because as you sleep, the dry shampoo has time to fully absorb oils and any sweat that might accumulate on your scalp. By the time you wake up, your hair looks naturally refreshed, without the visible powdery residue that can sometimes occur when applied in the morning.

So, the next time you find yourself reaching for that dry shampoo bottle in the morning, try using it the night before instead. It may save you even more time while delivering better results, giving you that just-washed look without the hassle.

Here are eight industries that could significantly decline or disappear altogether within the next 10 years:

1. DVD and Blu-ray Retail
Physical media sales have been steadily declining as streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ dominate the entertainment landscape. The convenience of on-demand, cloud-based platforms makes physical discs unnecessary for most consumers.

2. Cable TV
With the rise of streaming services and cord-cutting, traditional cable TV is struggling to retain subscribers. Younger audiences prefer on-demand content, and cable packages may soon become a thing of the past.

3. Print Newspapers
While print media won’t disappear entirely, the vast majority of newspapers are moving to digital formats. The convenience of online news, combined with the decline in print advertising revenue, spells trouble for the traditional newspaper industry.

4. Traditional Taxi Services
Ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft have disrupted the taxi industry, offering more convenience and often lower prices. As autonomous vehicles become more common, traditional taxi services may struggle to survive.

5. Landline Phones
The use of landlines has sharply declined as more people rely solely on mobile phones. Telecommunications companies may eventually phase out landlines altogether as mobile networks improve.

6. Movie Rental Stores
With the dominance of digital rental and streaming services, physical movie rental stores have nearly vanished. Chains like Blockbuster have already become relics of the past, and the trend will likely continue.

7. Coal Industry
As the world shifts towards renewable energy sources and countries enact stricter environmental regulations, the coal industry is declining. Cleaner alternatives like solar and wind energy are rapidly gaining ground.

8. Check Printing Companies
The use of paper checks has decreased dramatically, replaced by digital payment options such as online banking, mobile apps, and cryptocurrency. Check printing companies may face extinction as electronic transactions dominate the financial industry.

These industries will need to innovate or transform to survive in an increasingly digital and sustainable world.
