Despite public perception, the success of a boxer isn’t based on strength or power — it’s hand-speed. Of course boxers need the muscle to compete, but it doesn’t matter how strong they are if they don’t have the hand-speed to match.

Hand-speed is about connecting with the target first with the greatest possible force. A boxer with exceptional hand-speed is a far bigger competitive threat than one with a hard one-punch knockout. And while training is critical, it’s become increasingly clear that it can only take you so far. Fast boxers are largely the result of nature, not nurture.

Former US Olympian and multiple-division Boxing World Champion Roy Jones Jr. ranks among the fastest punchers in the ring, and one of the fastest fighters of all time pound for pound. What’s most impressive is that Jones has retained his standard of speed across weight classes, from middleweight to super middleweight to light heavyweight to heavyweight.

This is a crazy feat, because generally speaking adding muscle and body mass doesn’t usually help athletes with speed. It’s no surprise that Jones is the only boxer in history to start his career as a junior middleweight and go on to win a heavyweight title, and also was the first former middleweight champion to win a heavyweight title in 106 years when he won WBA.

But Jones isn’t just a fast punch — he’s incredibly quick on his feet, too. This overall agility allows him to perform stunning combinations on the fly, with lighting-fast uppercuts and insane rapid-fire hooks.

“I honestly didn’t clock that I was considered one of the fastest hands in the industry until people started calling it out — that’s just the speed my body operates at, so it feels normal to me,” says Jones. “I feel like it’s an apt metaphor for what’s going on in the fighting world right now. You can’t just be the strongest or the most powerful or have the best training. You need other skills that give you added value and most importantly, help you be nimble and agile and adapt to changing situations.”

Jones recently signed on as our newest Elite Champion Ambassador and we couldn’t be more excited to work with him, and have our Fight To Fame competitors learn a thing or two from his quick hands! www.fight2fame.com

From fairer compensation to more meaningful fan engagement to an international network of franchise opportunities, this is the vision of a sustainable future for fighters we can all get behind.”

Said Tim Smithe, Spokesperson and Chairman of Global Operations for Fight To Fame: “Dennis brings the ideal blend of industry chops and entrepreneurial spirit to the Fight To Fame team, and already has such an impressive background in pioneering sports entertainment. We are grateful to have his leadership and strategic mind for live events as we roll out Fight To Fame’s vision on a global scale.”

Fight To Fame is creating the future of sports entertainment, powered by a blockchain-based platform to fuel everything from global fan engagement to fair and more transparent monetization opportunities for fighters.

by Tim Smithe Spokesperson and Chairman of Global Operations for Fight To Fame

Any fiat money system, based on a central bank, and one without the back up an asset like gold, runs out of steam after seventy years or so. The current US dollar, in its latest form, was born in 1913 with the Federal Reserve Act. It’s long overdue for a facelift.

With a global paper money recession looming, one has to wonder what is next for money?

As a student of and evangelist for digital currency, I suggest that the future of money is digital.

Hard cash has no memory, otherwise known as anonymous. Depending on who you ask, that can be good or bad.

Paper money is an expensive security risk to transport.

I remember when the internet was new. People said they would never put their bank information on-line. Electronic money, transferred over wires and then over computers took some time to be accepted. But they have been accepted.

To understand the role of cryptocurrency, let’s first take a look at the big picture.

To begin with, all citizens, rich or poor, will need to have a digital identity. From the rollout of the “Real ID” in the US, to the biometric scanner on global smartphones, all will stand up and be counted.

The unbanked of this world will be banked, but first must be digitally accounted for. Even if you live in Douala, Cameroon, you will be issued a global Identification Card.

The benefits will be that small loans may now be available to those who never even had a bank account before. The unbanked will have access to micro-loans and for the first time can start a tire business or a barber shop.

And while loans, interest and debt is a two-edged sword, many will have the new consumers chance to finance simple items that they have never possessed before. Items like motorbikes and refrigerators will now become available to all.

The second concept to understand about our (near) future is that all assets can be, and will be digitized and tokenized.

Have you ever applied for a mortgage? The documentation process, the collecting of obscure documents from your past, the time, the sweat, and the closing fees take most of the fun out of this happy occasion.

Money can be a store of value. So how about a digitized land title?

Picture a 10 acre track of land in Vancouver, Canada. Now, if we could parcel out the land into 20 parts, we could also create 20 tokens, each representing a half acre. The tokens could be placed on the stock market for cryptocurrency, a “crypto exchange”, and then traded. As the land increases or decreased in value, the token value would follow. It simplifies land purchasing and ownership.

Artwork can be digitized and tokenized. Would you like to own 1/100 of a Monet? You will be able to.

Blockchain and cryptography technologies mean that literally anyone can create money. Communities with a common theme will be able to create their own currency.

One currency, crypto, is borderless and international. It has no language barriers.

Some of the early cryptos made big promises but had no project supporting them; and by that I mean a real revenue-generating project behind it. The best future cryptos will have multiple income stream projects supporting them.

Tokens exist on the blockchain; an accounting ledger in the cloud.

With smart contracts built into the blockchain, a third-party permission giver, like current banks, are not necessary. If you try to find the Bitcoin headquarters, or the COO, you can’t. They don’t exist. This future is truly decentralized.

The peer-to-peer system is decentralized and has no one overseer. It reduces financial transaction cost and shortens its length of time.

My confession is that I don’t have a crystal ball, but guessing what the future might hold. All citizens will have a digital identity in a digitized, tokenized world, trading multiple currencies unified by cryptocurrency protocols that will not require currency conversion nor trust between parties. Faster. Cheaper. And more secure.
