Gombe Holdings, commonly known in Zimbabwe as ‘Broadway Investments’​, is a diversified investment holding company which was founded in 1989. The Group is largely comprised of companies within the real estate, construction, building materials, mining, agriculture, financial services, manufacturing and others. Our divisions are as follows:

Gombe Property & Infrastructureis a division which includes subsidiary companies in the construction, building materials and real estate sectors, the likes of, Bitumen Construction Services (BCS), Kuchi Construction, Kuchi Electrical Services and the Rowdrix Group of Companies; amongst others.

Gombe Financial Servicesis currently comprised of companies within the Heritage Insurance Group, a group of companies which include short term, life and a medical fund company. Glenrand Insurance Brokers is also part of our group of companies. Historically, the Group was also a founder & investor in BancAbc, a diversified banking group listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange, in addition to a secondary listing on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

Gombe Agribusinessis currently comprised of Stafford Estates, a group of farms of approximately, 6000 hectares located in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe and Kawambwa Tea Estate in Zambia.

Gombe Resourcesis comprised of investments in mineral resources, with an emphasis on precious metals. Past investments include an investment into Mwana Africa in 2004, a mining conglomerate listed on the AIM stock exchange in the UK. We were also elected as a partner to Anglo Platinum in the establishment of Unki Mine in Zimbabwe.

Gombe ITis comprised of Blue Rose Technologies, a digital products, IT managed services and research firm.

Other companies include the likes of Manders Ink & Coating, Kent Meters and many others.

Role: Operations Trainee: Legal Affairs & Business Development

We are looking for a creative and entrepreneurial law graduate with an interdisciplinary background. We are looking for a law graduate with interests beyond black letter law e.g. do you have an interest in finance? Do you have remarkable graphic design capabilities? Are you a budding photographer?

We are also looking from someone who takes initiative and has remarkable problem solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

· A law degree with a 2.1 pass/equivalent;

· Strong proficiency/awareness of Zimbabwean labour law, company law and civil procedure.

· An awareness and interest in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the Infrastructure Sector would be an advantage.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills;

· Strong problem solving and analytical skills;

· Interests and experiences beyond law;

The internship will last six months.
