Cold case which ran from 2003 to 2010 on CBS is one of my all time favourite shows, I love the stories, the music and the characters and it definitely deserved more than 7 seasons. I thought it would be fun to share my personal favourite episodes of the show and I have many.

Season 4 episode 10 Forever blue.

The murder of a cop in 1968 is reopened when a dying jailbird makes a deal with the police in order to get released earlier and tells them that he found drugs in the victim’s car.

This episode seems to be a fan favourite and I understand why, Its one of the best written and acted episodes in the whole show. I love that its filmed in black and white and the episode features a realistic portrayal of how homosexuals where treated during the time. Coop and Jimmy's story is a sad but beautiful one that's told remarkably well in the 42 minute runtime. the ending is also one of my favourites of the whole series.

Season 2 episode 3 Daniela.

Lilly and Scotty are confronted by a battered woman whose pervert husband filmed a super 8 snuff film back in 1979 of a young girl presumably being shot.

This episode from season 2 is one of the many episodes that had me in tears by the end and I think its one of the most powerful episodes in the series. The love story presented in this episode is one I hope will open many peoples eyes and help people be more accepting of other people. The conclusion of this episode is heartbreaking but the ending with one of my favourite songs goodbye girl playing is hauntingly beautiful.

Season 1 episode 6 Love Conquers Al.

A petty thief, hoping for a reduced prison sentence, relays information pertaining to the night in 1981 when a high school track runner was fatally shot, placing doubt on the guilt of the man now serving a life sentence for the crime.

This episode loosely based on the real life murder of Adrianne Jones is one of my favourites from season 1. Its dark and mysterious and features one of the more brutal murders on the show. This episode also gave us Danny Pinto for the first time and one of the best scores with great 80s music.

Season 4 episode 6 Static.

The 1958 death of an influential and popular disc jockey is reopened when it becomes clear it was not a suicide as originally believed.

This episode is in my opinion one of the best written of the whole series and one that had me surprised and guessing the entire time. I loved the music and the song Scarlet Rose which played during the ending was so beautiful. A perfect episode.

Season 6 episode 17 Officer down.

When one of their own is shot and taken to an intensive care unit, the Cold Case team try to figure out who shot him and an elderly convenience store owner. Vera feels guilty for the incident since he was there at the time.

A really intense and tragic episode with many great twists and turns. The best from season 6.

Season 3 episode 1 Family.

After a teenage girl who was dumped in the garbage by her parents 17 years earlier is approached by a man claiming to be her father, the team re-investigates the hit and run death of her father, Jimmy in 1988.

The very first episode of season 3 is one of the best from the series. Jimmy was a lovely, innocent victim who just wanted to be with his family and did not deserve what happened to him. The ending is also one of the best from the show and makes me tear up every time.

Season 1 episode 7 A time to hate.

The team investigates a 1964 case when a young college student was killed outside a gay bar.

Another one of my favourite episodes from season 1. A time to hate was way ahead of its time and I really applaud the writers for how they told this story. Daniel is another great victim in the series history and the ending where he finally got some justice was lovely to see. An episode I think everyone should watch.

Season 4 episode 17 Shuffle, Ball Change.

The skeleton is found of a sixteen year old who wanted to become a dancer, against the wishes of his grocer/father and wrestler/brother.

I love Billy Elliot, Footloose, Dirty Dancing and pretty much every other dancing movie so this episode about an aspiring dancer was made for me. The acting in this episode is some of the best and I really loved Maurice he was such a charming victim with so much talent. The score for this episode was also fantastic.

Season 7 episode 7 Read between the lines.

The team reopens the 1990’s case of a teenage girl murdered and stuffed in a zebra-print rug. But was it the rough gang she hung out with who hurt her, or was it somebody who went unnoticed?.

The last season of cold case had a few great episodes but this one about an up and coming teenage rapper really resonated with me. Donalyn the victim in this episode clearly had a hard life and it was sad to see it end in such a sad way. A young and adorable Yara Shahidi also had a role in this great episode.

Season 5 episode 8 It takes a village.

The discovery of a dead body in a storage facility reveals the presence of a serial killer who has killed four African-American boys over the course of a few years.

This episode is one of the most intense and frightening of the entire series but its also one of the best made and the acting is great. Definitely a must watch episode.

Season 5 episode 9 Boy crazy.

The 1960’s case is reopened of a young girl named Samantha (“Sam”) who was relentlessly teased and even groped at one point for dressing like a boy, after which she was found murdered and left in a river.

This episode from season 5 is one of the most heartbreaking in the shows history. Sam is in my opinion one of the best victims in cold case and her story is a sad reminder of how different and hard things where for people like her back in that time. The acting is fantastic and the ending is tear jerking.

Season 3 episode 5 Committed.

A former mental patient named Betty Petrowski dies. The woman’s only child, her son Otis, is called to identify the body and finds it is not the body of his mother. Det. Rush and her colleagues begin the search for Otis’ real mother.

This episode is another very sad one and features probably one of the most memorable victims in the history of the series. The acting is amazing and the conclusion to this already sad episode is just heart wrenching.

Season 4 episode 18 A dollar, a dream.

After seven years, the body of a missing woman who had been living in her car with her two daughters is discovered in that car at the bottom of a lake.

Season 4 is my favourite season of cold case and this episode might be my all time favourite, its without a doubt the saddest case in the series history. The victim is meet with nothing but tragedy the entire episode and when finally something good happens to her and her children she is killed senselessly over nothing. This episode also stars a young Jennifer Lawrence who along with the rest of the cast gives a brilliant performance. The music in this episode is also among the best.

Season 4 episode 19 Offender.

A man forces Lilly’s team to reinvestigate his son’s murder-rape in 1987 by pushing a sex offender off a roof and promising to systematically kill one person a day until the case is solved.

Yet another great episode from season 4. Offender features the most innocent victim in the series a 6 year old boy named Clayton who was brutally raped and murdered by a monster. The climax of this episode is one of the most intense from the show and the ending is so emotional.

Season 5 episode 17 Slipping.

In 1962, a woman’s death is ruled a suicide. Her granddaughter asks the team to investigate her suicide after she provides them with newer evidence she hopes will prove that her grandmother’s suicide was actually a murder.

My mom also loves cold case and this is her favourite episode of the show and I totally get why, Slipping is one of the most interesting and creepy episodes of the series and it left me guessing all the way to the end.

Season 2 episode 10 Discretion.

The team investigates the 2000 slaying of an up-and-coming Connecticut prosecutor who was about to try a high profile murder case. The early investigation discovers that prior to his death he seemed to have been heavily distracted by something.

This episode is one of the best from season 2 and features not one but two innocent victims, Greg who's brutally murdered and Antonio an innocent teenager framed for a crime he did not commit. This episode has one of the most touching endings of the series and one of my all time favourite songs why does it always rain on me by Travis is also featured.

Season 1 episode 18 Resolutions.

An alcoholic comes in and tells a tale of a hit and run. She is sure that she killed him when she drove drunk on New Years eve.

This episode is probably my favourite from season 1 and features one of the most cold blooded murders in the history of the show. A great episode with twists and turns that left me shocked.

Season 1 episode 23 Lovers lane.

The team reopens the case of Eve, a fifteen-year-old raped and murdered in 1986 after getting involved with a sleazy adult man who promised to make her a famous pop star if she’d run away with him.

the final episode of season 1 is one of the darkest and most disturbing episodes in the history of the show and features a surprising and evil doer. The ending is also one of the best from the show.

Season 3 episode 9 A perfect day.

The remains of a small girl are found under a bridge. The story goes back to the 60’s and turns out the girl has a twin sister still alive. A sad family story begins to unravel.

Cold case is full of sad episodes but this one is especially heartbreaking and moving. The acting here is top notch and the whole episode is written and directed beautifully.

Season 4 episode 22 Cargo.

The FBI asks the team to reopen a case involving the 2005 murder of longshoreman Mike Chulaski, whose death might be related to a Russian human-trafficking ring the FBI is trying to bring down.

This brilliant episode from season 4 is also very sad and moving featuring one of the loveliest victims in the shows history Mike and also showcasing the sad reality of human trafficking.

Season 1 episode 8 Fly Away.

After two years in a coma, a mother wakes in the hospital. Rosie hardly remembers the night she and her daughter were thrown out of a window, killing her daughter. Lily and Scotty look into the case and find a whole nest of bad secrets.

The very first episode of the show that made me cry, Fly away is one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful stories ever told in the series and features one of the most touching endings on the show.

Season 4 episode 1 Rampage.

A 1995 mall shooting spree, in which two teenagers killed and wounded several people before committing suicide, is reopened when it is found that there may be a third person involved.

The very first episode of my favourite season is one of the most thrilling and unique episodes in the history of the show and features great twists and turns throughout.

Those are all my favourite episodes of cold case though I honestly like or love almost all the episodes in the show.
