It’s something we’ve been wanting to do for quite a while but we always thought we’d a lot more runway and hadn’t really firmed anything up.

Four weeks ago I was presented with an opportunity which was simply too good to turn down. It would bring our life plans forward by about a year and would help us achieve that little something that we’d been wanting to do.

A new position with the company I work for, Timely had come up. This new position, however, was based in the UK — we currently live in New Zealand, basically the other side of the World.

I had expressed interest with my leaders that we’d been wanting to move to the UK so when Timely started firming things up I threw my name into the hat and after some discussion as a family confirmed that it was still something that we wanted to do and would commit ourselves as much as possible to the timeline which had been set.

So this is where our journey begins, four weeks in since I signed the contract for the new position. I’ve always wanted to fire up a blog to talk about things that interest me. Things like; aviation, customer success, business and family but never really got to it. This was a good opportunity for me to get into it and maybe other people out there will be inspired and also learn from our adventures.

Over the next couple of posts, I’ll aim to answer the questions I mentioned at the top and also add a few of the interesting things we’ve learned so far amongst other thoughts and rambles I have.
