Leaning into a life of intuitive spontaneous action

Top 5 regrets of the dying:

(from Bonnie Ware)

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

On Regret

I am not dying but as I feel the momentum of ‘30’ pulling me in and my 20-some-years pushing me out, I have been feeling a pang of regret.

I witness how much second guessing I did from 18 until now…

…only to be coming back to my own intuition,

…only to have watched visions I was confused about fulfilled,

…only to witness years and moments un-lived in my full expression birth regret for no one but me,

…only to see how mornings, evenings, nights and days spent entertaining others thoughts of me, were mostly trapped fears around speaking or doing what I really wanted,

and I allow myself to have regret.

I’m someone who travelled to 20+ countries, lived in 5 cities, made many connections and choose to lay a foundation for an unconventional life and career.

And still…

I regret doubting myself.

I regret questioning myself.

I regret quieting my fire.

I regret being so hard on myself, when we’re all coming through personal, social and ancestral world-shaping shifts.

I regret overly-entertaining the opinions of people who are not going to be here to see my life through.

This is not a regret I will dwell in.

There is a “both and” here: Everything led to the embodied knowing I have now— and also–I get to see what could have been, from this present knowing.

What I Know Now

The world is changing radically, in every dimension.

We’ve been poorly prepared for it.

We get to participate in its (and our) complete and total unfolding.

There is no one-size-fits-all for this.

It gets to be fun.

12 Years to 12 Minutes

6 months shy of 18 to 6 months shy of 30... While I just shared about my regrets, what am I most proud of in these 12 years?

Letting myself pause, reconsider, and allow new choices to arrive — over and over.

There is plenty more I can and will say on that, but for now, the phrase that emerged in October as I began to deliberately center how I want to live from what I know now: ‘intuitive spontaneous action.’

It took 12 years to get to a place I feel I can live a life from that sentiment. I am still building the foundation financially to allow a greater flexibility within that, but mentally and emotionally, every conscious thought and lighting up of my unconscious has brought me back to that phrase.

And so, as I open to my next 12 years, I choose to share with you that sentiment. The world is fast-changing and it will be hard to predict the next 12 years, but you can choose how you want to orient, starting with how you treat your next free 12 minutes.

The Greatest Adventure

I consider our personal yet connected paths to liberation, life’s greatest adventure.

What stops us?

Confusion over present desires in conflict with long term needs (and the gap in-between) can stop us from taking action.

Fear can encourage us to give up on ourselves and the people around us.

Recurring conflict — inner and outer — can blind us to the joy of something greater: more loving, just, joyful and abundant.

These three dilemmas are personal and collective.

So where do we begin?

My encouragement as a start is not to follow anyone else’s story for you, but rather to allow yourself in your next free 12 minutes — to pause, dance, breath, account for the present moment need, take action where you’re avoiding it, say yes to the thing you’ve been putting off, or just let your intuition lead.

Pauses allow ‘something new’ back in.

And this something new (or remembered) can encourage us to hold “both-ands,” in the way the logical mind is quick to erase.

From a place of ‘both-and,’ we can be and birth things that truly do not replicate the past.

And when we personally gives ourselves a taste of that, so we can learn to do it together too.

On Creative (R)Evoltion

Creative evolution and revolution is about choice, and surrender.

It’s about action and allowing.

It’s about devotion and disruption.

It is a state of mind, a way of being, and a personally/co-created path forward in support of conscious mental, emotional and spiritual evolution.

Personally, its an invitation to throw out the rulebook, while supporting you to harmonize the pressures and needs of a moment with the innate knowing of a call deep within.

It is a reminder that what you’re moving toward gets to feel good.

And an invitation to surrender needing to feel good, to actually take action toward it.

Its a path of self discovery that involves outer shifts on every level of your life.

Let It Breathe

As I was writing this, my Dad walked into the room and quoted myself back to myself: ‘feel free to enjoy the next 12 minutes.’ …and here is life laughing back at us. Where you get lost on the path, give yourself a moment to breathe and see what gets sent back your way.

He was re-quoting me saying:“If you can envision 12 years, you can live 12 months… and if you can do 12 months you can do 12 weeks, and 12 days… and 12 minutes.”

So that’s my invitation to you today — Give yourself 12 minutes to take a spontaneous action… even if it’s to sit there and feel confused (confusion is powerful too), to feel regret, sadness, or longing, to let yourself dance… to let yourself remember. What else is here?

Support In Your Creative (R)Evolution

If you would like support to tap into your own great adventure…

If you would like to reclaim the story of your life from your innate wisdom and have accountability to act on it:

Consider GIFTING yourself a different kind of (belated) Valentine’s Gift.

I’ve created 2 tools for “Making Magic Happen:” a 12 week habit tracker and a 12 month vision setter, to get you reconnected to breadth and depth — long term vision and daily action. For half-off use code: VDAYGIFT until February 21st.

You can also find support for creative revolution on my substack.

For 1–1 support, I currently offer creative (r)evolution sessions (2 hours) or seasons (13 weeks) where we look at a holistic path for tapping into the both-ands you are ready to live into.

You don’t have to do this alone.

With love,

Libby

Adventures of Heart — Happy Valentines 2025

Substack, Support Systems & Fueling the Inner Artist

At a time things are moving so fast, I’m finding it more and more stabilizing for my inner heARTIST to honor the present moment when I write. AI, is a wonderful companion for sales-ification, but I’m not sure it knows how to feel while it processes: to notice its back, its hips, its breadth, to hear the noise of the coffee shop, the tiredness in its eyes, the aliveness in its belly; to grasp its infinite and dying nature at the same time and try not to have an existential crisis in the midst of processing words that seem to make less and less sense in a fast changing world.

So here I am, full-ass human writing in Lansing, Michigan, February 14th, 2025 — preparing to publish at 4:44 pm.

*exhale*

Happy Valentines Day.

First, a reminder: YOU are your first VALENTINE.

Now, a couple brief and not so brief invitations to you on this V-Day:

Cheat on Medium and join me in a transition to Substack this year (more on that in Part 2)

Get a different quality of my energy through a weekly newsletter I’m starting focused on creating paths to work in energy, embodiment, and emergence. It’s called ‘Adventures of Heart’ and I’d love to have you. What does this mean? It means stepping out of the box. Creative Revolution is not just about looking into the eyes of your inner dragon, its about calling into remembrance your richest visions in life, love and relationship, holding the mind-splitting contradictions through the power of your heart, honoring the complexities of a changing world, and calling in what you need (not anyone else) to step into the unknown you yearn for. Reminder: What you seek is seeking you.

Here is what one of my clients working with me over the course of a season has to say:

I’m offering half off all activation sessions (2 hour deep dives), and season-long packages (10 60–90 minute sessions over 13 weeks) — until February 21st. Book or connect with me to learn more.

Have a restful Friday fellow co-creators.

‘Rekindling’ — Read When You Want To Bring Back Your Inner Fire

When ‘Fuck This’ Becomes Mantra

There’s a popular phrase amongst women guiding one other back to our bodies.

The phrase is “REWILDING.”

I look forward to retreats and live-in-person events where I can continue to be a part of this and eventually co-facilitate it… in the collectives we are made to heal with, in nature, in dedicated space and time.

For now, as I witness the work happening in my own 1–1 spaces with Creative Visionaries, Future Seers, and Humble/Open/Bold/Edgy Lovers bringing themselves to the Table of Life and Love saying “I belong here…”

I have a different phrase for what I’m undergoing and welcoming:

“REKINDLING”

I call it “re-kindling”…because this fire, has been here the whole (excuse my french) fucking time.

And not a child-in-leaders-clothing on this planet can put it out.

Not a child-in-trauma’s-clothing in this body-mind can put it out.

Not a child-grasping-reigns in the relationships we wish to grow can put it out.

Damage us? yes. Create catastrophic consequences? yes. Harm? yes. Belittle, demean, even at times devour…? yes.

Our inner children are strong. I’ll give them that.

And a child with power, is deadly.

But most of our inner children — the ones who lived “then” in our young lives, and the ones living now as we encounter a new age not knowing how to do or be — are desperate to be TRUSTED.

The children in us, want to be loved, and want to learn. They want to uncover new skills and live wildly beyond their limits. They want to direct their fire with love and justice, peace and courage, power and play, devotion and detachment… or at least mine do. And I’ve met enough others now to know: the rekindling is inescapable once you claim it.

It’s my belief that as we reclaim our own power, so will we remember our capacity to turn the social power being wielded against us, into the flame that fuels our fate.

If you have a voice in you screaming, “It doesn’t have to be this way,” and another screaming back, “Leave me alone and let me be!” …You’re not alone.

And you’re right.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

And it makes perfect sense to want to hide under the covers.

But please consider, there are even better things than being left alone.

The “this” we are coming through requires healing in relationship and collectives since we’ve been traumatized in relationship and collectives… The spaces are still being created — and need stewarding. Is your fire being called here?

The “this” we are opening to has room for all of you in a way the upbringing you were raised in, the love you’ve been demonstrated didn’t… We’re learning how to live it, and we’re practicing. Is your fire beckoning to try?

The “this” that we are — includes you and is not absent of you… and we miss you when you’re absent. This, is me speaking to your fire. Aren’t you tired of being stored away? Are you ready to show us a new version of what we can be and become?

1–1 coaching work is just one entry-point to being able to be with all“this” in a different way. But this is where original, un-ordinary love gets to unfold, first with ourselves, then with everyone and everything around us.

If you’d like to try 1–1 coaching in a place that WELCOMES your parts, your complexities, your deepest desires, your deadened-but-ready-to-be-revived dreams… my work at LIBERATORY LOVE and ELEGANCE LAB are here to serve you.

Whether in opening the heart, approaching creative wholeness, or collaborating on something new… Let’s rekindle the fire we need to fuel the flame of our fate, starting with what is ours to reclaim.

Connect for details.

With magic,

Creatrix Libby

Feb 07 2025

“Everything is perfect, including my desire for it to be different.” — shamanic principle

“Let thy soul glow with the flame of this Undying Fire …that the waters of the universe will be powerless to cool down its ardor.” — Baháʼu’lláh

“Fuck this” — everyone ever who chose to be/do better than the status quo we were born into

Working with greater elegance

For the last decade, I’ve used my name ‘Libby Hoffman’ and ‘Lib-Hof’ to mark my design work. After 2 years of coaching, training and expanding into new territory in the tealm of body/mind connection and creativity…

I’ve created a separate account to articulate this process. You can follow Elegance Unfolding with ✩ Creatrix Libby ✧ ೃ༄*ੈ✩ for more. Below is a taste of working at the intersection of embodiment coaching and creativity:

What are Archetypes and why use them?

Archetypes are ways of stepping back from our psyche and witnessing the inner dance between conscious and unconscious, light and shadow, expressed and unexpressed with greater curiosity and clarity.

The process of seeing ourselves, rather than using ourselves… awakens new and more organic and joyful choice in our lives… rather than pushing, forcing or repeating old cycles to escape the inner noise.

Writer and mystic Caroline Myss describes the roots of archetype work in this way:

Awareness of archetypes dates back at least to the time of Plato, who called them Forms. Plato believed that these eternal Forms were reflected in material objects. The Form of Beauty, for example, is abstract and applies to all beautiful things; as different as the individual manifestations of Beauty may be–a beautiful person, horse, or flower–the Form itself never changes.

Seeing ‘Beauty’ distinct from x, y, z ‘beautiful thing’… allows us to work with a concept, virtue, or theme within ourselves with more artfulness and less attachment.

Carolyn Myss continues:

The great Swiss psychologist Carl Jung developed this idea further. For Jung, archetypes comprised psychological patterns derived from historical roles in life, such as the Mother, Child, Trickster, and Servant, as well as universal events or situations, including Initiation or Death and Rebirth.

Along with our individual personal unconscious, which is unique to each of us, Jung asserted, “there exists a second psychic system of a collective, universal, and impersonal nature that is identical in all individuals.” This collective unconscious, he believed, was inherited rather than developed, and was composed mainly of archetypes.

In this analysis, one might consider ‘archetypes’ as a way of dancing with the mystery and multidimensionality of the our collective unconscious… much like Old Testament, Greek, and Hindu Mythology use story and character to portray facets of human and divine power.

What are Creative Archetypes and why use them?

Continue reading here and watch a short intro below.
https://medium.com/media/1df296e69ffeb38ab10f94d5b0da5827/href

Me savoring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, and my brother keeping me up to date with 4 decades of intergallactic travel.

I don’t think its any wonder that two creatives who are also into drag and feminine sexual liberation would fall in love with the show — the ride through space, and the rise of all things meaningful to our surviving species.

Our human needs, and our creative genius, live hand in hand.

“Elegance Lab” birthed forth from me during my own time traveling. My hope was to stop designing and just focus on coaching. But every coaching session was an intergenerational, global time loop.

I found myself privately logging patterns, pulling out stories and making connections. Coaching people in the here and now was opening portals to worlds I’d only been reading about and trying to capture in story.

I’ve long known I hold a desire to build a “superhero” school. This summer is my first play with some of that.

My Liberatory Love coaching container this summer is called “No Stone Unturned,” supporting people in relationship, identity and creative transitions into transformations. You can drop into our first weeks invitation below.

As for Elegance Lab, I’m opening the doors. My first clients are developing new approaches to relationships, political engagement and cross-cultural education. There is room for more.

If you want to explore this summer, to expand your creative being and connect to what is meaningful to you in the here and now— personally or professionally — don’t hesitate to reach out.

Linktr.ee/Libhof

Libby
https://medium.com/media/eff13b903d0d3cd01cc95ec076f0a9e6/hrefhttps://medium.com/media/2b2c1c0b6fa086fff65b0869b8b18a9a/href

with relationship and digital wellness coach Libby Hoffman

Pause and reflect: Think of the last big mess in your house, your bedroom, your kitchen.

How long did it take you to clean it up?

In a conversation with my sister, I once said: “I can’t sleep until my room is clean.” She replied: “Oh really? I just crawl beneath the covers even when my bed is full.”

Which one are you?

This is not an article to shame your cleaning habits, but rather a thought experiment on the interconnection of maintaining, designing and savoring space, and complementary to that, your own inner world.

Aliveness resides not just in what a space is or is not, but in how we relate to it.

Let me rewind a minute.

It’s 8 pm in March of 2022. I’m sitting at the top of my driveway in Hawaii having just gotten off work at the dance/aerial silks studio. I’m sitting on my phone. I know I need to eat and shower but it’s the first time I’ve lived in the countryside and it’s almost pitch black outside. I’m also living alone for the first time and I don’t feel like walking from the dark of the night to the dark of the house. I don’t feel like cooking or eating alone, so despite knowing I’ll be up at 6 am for a Zoom call, I sit in the car, scroll, breathe, and stall all decision making.

Piled up dishes and procrastinating living in the safety of the pillow, the screen, the front seat — a hunger lingers. I know there is something more for myself and my life — I’m the type of person who up and moved to Hawaii — but I can’t put a finger on it, and so, I sit.

Sitting is not inherently a problem. In the Buddhist world, when we sit together, that’s called sangha, and the world is craving this kind of centered non-doing more than ever.

Stillness creates awareness.

It takes sitting in the stockpiled room to see the need for reconstruction.

It takes sitting at the still wheel to at times realize how hard being out of motion feels.

Pause is not a problem. And neither is pain.

But both become birthplaces of suffering, when we file the moments away and fill them with distraction.

So here, I am taking a moment of pause, to acknowledge pain, and to call us into greater clarity with ourselves and what might be possible this April, in even the next 30 days, if we saw ourselves, and these simple moments differently.

We live in a time few us live a technology-free moment. My invitation to you is for an hour a day, to shut off your devices entirely. Rather than focus on tech detox, I’m going to point you toward being with what comes up in the aftermath.

Here are 3 perspectives on letting “sitting” with stillness become an entry point for deepened aliveness with yourself and others.

Lean into the beauty of complexity.

Firstly, can you be curious rather than judgemental in the face of complexity. Your complexity as a person is not reducible, nor is it made to be quick-fixed by a single app, article, job or lover. Yet so often in the silence of a moment we jump to a “solution” to our own noise.

What if that complexity wasn’t a threat, but an invitation? When you start overthinking, imagine: “Would I try to think my way out of or into holding a baby kitten? Or looking at a beautiful sky?” Is your mind not as beautiful, intricate or emotional as such that you would rather reduce yourself to thoughts rather than allow yourself to sit in the sensation of being you?

Consider your mind as home. What does it need right now?

As you sit with yourself, consider the perspective of your mind as a home. So often we’re upset about a mess. But in a house, isn’t the mess of a room often just evidence it was well used? A dirty kitchen must be cleaned, but can we hold that in tandem with gratitude for what was savored, lived in, and enjoyed?

We’re quick to judge our own internal conflicts as evidence that something is wrong, and slow to appreciate the work or play we are taking on. As you consider your mind as a dwelling, you can free yourself from singular thinking about what you ought to or should be feeling, thinking or doing, and instead wonder about how to deepen the experience of what already is. Does your home need to be cleaned? Prepared for something that is coming? Or savored and enjoyed?

With these questions, what options open up in the time alone with yourself? Practice noticing not just over the course of a day, but 30 days.

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed: What wants to be transformed?

The third perspective to consider is the potential to transform at an energetic level. Until we tap who we want to become, and how we feel now, we have little roadmap for guiding ourselves into anything different than what we’re already in. We multiply more of the same, whether that be from our own state, or what we’re mirroring of others.

Only when we pause to consider: How do I want to feel can we activate the awareness we need to change. And from that awareness a new choice also becomes possible. This choice is a small process for transforming energy–we take the acknowledgement of the stuckness or emotion and allow it to inform new action. Larger change can require more complex processes: from walking outside to dancing to phoning a friend, allowing ourselves to cry, or working more long term with a coach or therapist. But the reality is: if we don’t pause to observe, if we don’t identify a new emotion, and if we don’t take one step to move toward that, we are sitting in the same energy.

What energy will you create the next 24 hours from? What about the next 30 days?

Tapping into your aliveness doesn’t just mean hopping on a plane or creating a drastic life change. You can start with noticing the moments.

So in your next moment of stillness, listen, look, and lean into the potential for greater play.

Your aliveness lives here.

My name is Libby Hoffman. A few months after those nights in my car, I made a choice to leave my job and got my first 2 bedroom apartment in a small city a 5 minute walk from the ocean. I few months later I started my training in something I wanted to do for years: relationship coaching. Today, I am a holistic coach with a focus on relationship and somatic (mind, body) healing.

If something resonated I would love to hear from you.

If you would like to reconnect to your aliveness in group, join my workshop next Friday April 5th here.

“A livable future depends on those who challenge the rules.”

This is how I’ve chosen to introduce “Seeds of Elegance,” an interview series on personal and systems change.

I’m Libby Hoffman, a budding relationship, embodiment and creative love coach.

I’m also an evolving designer, systems thinker and social change leader.

In kicking off this series over the last 3 months, I debated, “Should I keep this work separate? Do I want the first 5 out of 6 episodes of my podcast to feature sensitive discussions of alternative health, self intimacy and sexuality?”

Too personal?

Too political?

Too nontraditional?

Will I damage my “secular” professional life talking about spirituality and sex publicly?

I wondered and debated the stakes before fully claiming the female body, and the womb, the center of creativity, as the only place I really want to start this podcast and the reemergence of my career.

It took 26 years to even get myself on this path. There will be no “going back,” though the features of the road ahead will change along the way.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” — Carl Jung

When I look to the the century ahead, one I plan to be alive for, I know a new quality of leadership is not only needed but desired for facing and co-creating this road.

The world as we know it, may be “ending,” but a brand new one is coming forth, and choosing who we want to be as people is as essential as choosing what we want the future to look like.

So welcome to Seeds of Elegance, a place I am choosing to publicly grapple with transformative philosophy and process, grappling with the “invisible” or unconscious landscapes that shape our trajectories so we can more consciously form new paths.

In this space I will play with ideas that reflect some of my emerging philosophy and practice:

We can do things radically differently than what we were modeled.

Change is beyond any one of us, yet centers all of us.

We get to serve and lead from a resourced place.

Profound trust is possible, in love and every layer of the system, and

Our intelligence is not only capable of but ready to consider the interrelationship of personal and systems change.

Let this be an exploration, a spectrum of possibilities, a playpen for your mind around what’s possible. These first 6 episodes open with one woman’s grappling with life and end with another’s shamanistic journey rebirthing the masculine.

The journey is as deep and beautiful as we let it be.

If something resonates, leave a comment, reach out to myself or the people featured.

Taking space is crucial for creativity, which is why I initiated a 2-month Facebook and phone detox in January.

I was 6 months into learning about myself and clients through relationship and feminine healing coaching. These 2 months offered the the courage and clarity for hosting a mastermind on the intersection of religion and sexuality.

Did you know learning to make fire was one of the things that set humans apart from animals early on?

Yet one of our most stated phrases when something feels unsafe is: “don’t play with fire.”

So let me ask: What if we as humans hadn’t ever chosen to play?

Fire can cause extraordinary pain. Even images of fire, when used to inflict fear, can torment a person.

But fire can also be a healing force. A transforming force. An illuminating force.

Fire can alchemize.

Fire can preserve, produce, and induce action.

It can also burn, scar and kill.

I have long feared speaking about religion, sexuality and especially their intersection, publicly.

And yet, the nudges of life tend to get loudest when we are avoiding them.

And so I felt them, heard them, avoided, and listened until I felt deep enough in my journey into either and my own support to help others to “play with fire.”

So I come to the table with this offer with humility, love, and also fear. But over the years I have been led over and over to believe fear, when it is fear in awe, in wonder, in amazement, is one of love’s truest forms.

We are most locked out of what we are most afraid to go into.

At this stage what we should most be afraid of, is what shallow fears hold all of us back from discovering the depths of what is meant to serve us.

The birth of Liberatory Love, is not just a coaching method, it’s an energy. An energy that I am allowing my life to be the hearth for.
https://medium.com/media/cb478b94b94e990275a5e48169454dd5/href
I cannot live without the heat of my fire. And that fire is sustained by the earth holding me, and the breath of “God” sending life through me.

I put this word in quotes as a symbol of my coaching container being one where you define or undefine this term for yourself.

I capitalize it to symbolize a recognition of that which sustains my life that is out of my control.

So the discussion of earth, of God, and of the intersection of all of it–my body, this earth, love and mystery, and the social systems that do or do not uplift them–are all called to the table.

And so are you.

In 2024, this is a virtual event. In future, I’ll see you in the forest, on the sand, by the trees. I’ll meet you in a gown or a garden of roses.

For now: I invite you into your own body, to a transmission that will come through a screen, an invitation that will come as a glimmer, a sliver, a whisper, a beckoning into a new way of being with earth, with body, with heart ~ and your own personal awareness around what stops ourdeepest receiving of it all.

If you are seeking the next level of liberation in your relationship to life, love and intimacy, consider joining my workshop Thursday 3/21.

You can email liberatorylove@gmail.com for questions.

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/heart-open-liberatory-healing-in-religion-sexuality-tickets-861516217197?aff=oddtdtcreator
