He obtained his bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated with honors. He later received an MBA in entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. Before starting his companies, Manny Bojorquez was a national sales leader at Lifewatch, where he was responsible for implementing a regional sales strategy to drive growth.

Every business organization’s goal is to make a profit. To achieve this objective, executives can adopt several specific strategies:

- Determine your direct and indirect competitors, especially in the digital sphere. Also, research your target market and channel your marketing efforts to your target.

- Incorporate value marketing instead of price reduction. Communicate your product’s value and its key differentiators to enlighten your customers on the characteristics that set your products above your competitors’ products.

- Consider diversification, focusing on entering a new, unexplored market. Such a market development strategy may involve selling your products to new markets to reach more customers or expanding to targeted geographical locations.

An experienced entrepreneur, he owns several companies in the legal, automotive, and pharmaceutical sectors. These include peaCURE, HyperCar Development, and Global TecHub.

Lots of people want to be entrepreneurs, but not everyone is cut out for the responsibilities. Here are several signs that you have what it takes to start and lead your own business:

You’re comfortable with big risks.
Starting and running a business is full of inherent risk, usually in relation to finances. Depending on your business, you may need a hefty financial investment at the start, so there is a risk of losing that investment if your business goes under. There is also a risk of giving up a full-time paycheck for one that is more intermittent and uncertain.

You can execute your ideas.
Successful entrepreneurs see the big picture and what the future holds, but this vision alone isn’t enough. They must also be capable of realizing their ideas and turning them into reality. If you aren’t able to execute your ideas, then your business will struggle, regardless of how great of a concept you’ve thought of.

You are willing to fail.
No one wants to fail in something they are trying to accomplish, but it happens to virtually everyone as they pursue success. As a strong entrepreneur, you can’t be afraid of failure. In fact, you should be capable of recognizing it, acknowledging it, and moving on to new challenges with the information you learned from it.

Prior to his entrepreneurship, Manny Bojorquez worked for Johnson & Johnson in Irvine, California.

In 2019, Johnson & Johnson assisted with funding equipment for an operation to help a polar bear who had a broken humerus (long bone between shoulder and elbow). The company shared the story on Polar Bear Day in February.

The polar bear, named Nora, was abandoned by her mother at just six days old after being born at the Ohio Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Without her mother, zookeepers hand raised the infant polar bear, and much later, she was moved to the Oregon Zoo in an attempt to pair her with a senior polar bear who later died. Nora would not find any companionship until she moved to Utah’s
Hogle Zoo, where she was matched with a young bear named Hope.

Nora was improving until one day when one of the keepers noticed she was not moving. She had apparently broken her humerus while playing rough with the other animals, the zoo presumed.

To correct the problem, veterinarians needed a special tool to heal the break. A doctor at Texas A&M working with DePuy Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson company, devised a tool similar to intra-medullary interlocking nail used with horses. The DePuy Synthes’ team devised a specialized surgical drill, a set of steel plates and screws, sutures, and topical skin adhesive made by another company.

Experts from Texas A&M, University of Utah Hospital, and North Carolina State University performed the surgery in almost six hours. While Nora had other bone issues, the surgery was ultimately successful in stabilizing the humerus.

Now the owner of peaCURE, ZIPTuning USA, and HyperCar Development, Manny Bojorquez is affiliated with such professional organizations as the International Mile Racing Association (IMRA).

Since 2010, IMRA has served as a sanctioning body for aerodynamic testing and standing mile events. As the world’s first sanctioning body of these events, IMRA does not organize events. Rather, it solidifies competition rules across varying events to maintain driver safety and limit accidents in the racing environment.

To participate in a sanctioned IMRA event, individuals must be a member of the sanctioning body. These members must also be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to compete in different events. According to IMRA standards, only street-legal vehicles, meaning those that have valid insurance and tags, are allowed to attempt to set a Guinness World Record. These vehicles must also have factory-installed passenger seat belts and working air-conditioning.

Beyond that, drivers must have up-to-date medical forms on file with IMRA before they can participate in an IMRA-sanctioned event. This form is contained within the rule books for the event. Drivers must also sign a hold-harmless waiver to participate.

In his free time, Manny Bojorquez enjoys snowboarding.

Snowboarding has several health benefits, including its ability to strengthen the lower body and core muscles. The core muscles are strengthened because the person is required to stand upright and use these muscles when jump turning and executing other maneuvers. The core muscles, which consist of spinal erectors, run from the base of the skull to the tailbone and assist in stabilizing a person’s waist.

Snowboarding also strengthens many of the muscles in the lower body. Inner and outer leg muscles are used to absorb the terrain and maintain balance. From the hip muscles (glute max and medius and internal and external rotators) to the legs (quads, adductors, abductors, calves, and tibialis anterior), snowboarding makes for an excellent lower body workout.

A sales maverick, Manny Bojorquez served in similar managerial sales positions at Bioness and Johnson & Johnson, developing expertise in marketing, channel management, and sales forecasting.

Sales forecasting is the process of predicting how much a company will sell in the coming period (week, month, or year). The process is fundamental to good business practice as it helps managers organize fulfillment processes, identify issues with sales systems, and make human resource and capital allocation decisions.

There are many ways to perform sales forecasts. One way is to utilize historical data to predict future sales. For example, a company can look at the sales figures it clocked during last year’s holiday season and assume it will make similar sales this year. It is an easy method but it fails to account for market and demand changes.

Another way is to leverage sales funnel data through opportunity stage forecasting. With this method, a sales manager looks at the potential values of deals in the company’s sales funnel and assumes that those further down the funnel are more likely to close. He or she then multiplies each deal’s potential value with its probability of closing then adds the totals to get the sales forecast. A more objective method but it fails to account for aging leads (leads that stay in one stage for months are treated the same as those that stay only a week).

Other methods of forecasting include the length of sales cycle forecasting that accounts for aging leads and intuitive forecasting that is more dependent on sales reps’ opinions. Whichever method a company opts to use, it should factor in materially impactful internal and external changes. Internal ones include compensation restructurings and personnel changes. External ones include competitive and legislative changes.

In addition to launching this venture, Manny Bojorquez is a member of the International Mile Racing Association (IMRA), an organization that is a sanctioning body for the sport.

IMRA aims to solidify competition rules for safety. The organization’s events are open to members only. To join, members only need to pay the yearly fee before entering races. The fee covers costs associated with decals, lanyards, and other incidentals.

Participants in any of its events have to comply with certain guidelines. To become eligible for racing, drivers have to be at least 18-years-old or older and have a valid driver’s license. Moreover, the cars have to be street legal, which means they need a tag and insurance. For cars attempting a Guinness World Record, the cars must have a factory-installed passenger seat with a functional seat belt and a working air-conditioner.

IMRA leaves it up to their discretion to decide whether a car meets said requirements. In some cases, the organization will ask prospective participants to submit to a 15-minute test drive.

Among the many companies Manny Bojorquez helps manage is peaCURE, a company specializing in pain management with palmitoylethanolamide (PEA).

In the broadest sense, pain can be divided into two types, acute and chronic. Acute pain is most commonly associated with injuries or trauma and is characterized by sudden onset. It typically recedes as you heal and treatment options include anti-inflammatory medication and some stronger drugs.

Chronic pain, on the other hand, is pain that lasts three months or more. This type of pain can have many causes and treatment options are directly tied to what’s causing the pain. Opiates and anti-inflammatory drugs are an option for chronic pain, but only treat the symptoms and don’t present a long-term treatment plan. As an alternative, it’s important to understand the cause of the pain and create a comprehensive plan of care.
