Built with a focus on scalability, Sui uses a unique approach to consensus and parallel processing, making it an ideal environment for creating decentralised applications and assets, such as tokens.

Sui’s innovative design enables developers to create scalable and user-friendly experiences. For those looking to launch their own token, Sui offers a smooth and efficient platform with fast transaction speeds and low costs, making it perfect for a variety of use cases — from gaming and NFTs to decentralized finance (DeFi).

Why Create a Token on the Sui Network?

Creating a token on Sui offers several advantages:

High Throughput: Sui can handle thousands of transactions per second, ensuring your token can scale as demand grows.

Low Fees: Transaction costs on Sui are significantly lower compared to many other blockchains, making it cost-effective to mint and manage tokens.

Scalability: Sui’s parallel execution model allows for seamless scaling as the network grows.

Fast Transactions: Transactions on Sui are confirmed in seconds, providing an instant experience for token holders.

These features make Sui an attractive choice for anyone looking to create a token for various applications, from gaming to rewards programs, to new DeFi projects.

Step-by-Step Guide to Create a Token on Sui with TokenToolbox

With TokenToolbox, you don’t need any coding knowledge to create your own token on the Sui Network. The platform provides an intuitive interface to help you configure your token and launch it in just a few simple steps.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

Before creating a token, you need to connect your Sui wallet to TokenToolbox. If you don’t have a wallet yet, you can easily set one up using popular Sui wallets such as Sui Wallet or Petra Wallet.

Go to TokenToolbox.app and head to Sui Token Creator.

Click the “Connect Wallet” button.

Select your Sui wallet provider and approve the connection.

Step 2: Configure Your Token

Once your wallet is connected, you can start creating your token. Here’s how to configure the basic settings:

Token Name & Symbol: Choose a unique name for your token and a symbol (e.g., “MyToken” and “MTK”).

Supply: Set the supply of your token. This is the number of coins that will be minted and sent to your wallet during the creation of your token (e.g., 1,000,000 MTK).

Decimals: Define the number of decimal places your token will support. This is how divisible your token will be (e.g., if you choose 9 decimals, the smallest unit will be 0.000000001 MTK).

Logo: Upload the logo of your token that will be used by wallets and chain explorers to display your token.

Description: Enter a short description describing your coin and your project.

Immutable: When selecting this option, you won’t be able to update your token’s metadata after creation.

Once you’ve configured your token, click “Confirm” to finalise the deployment.

Step 3: Confirm and Deploy

After configuring your token, you’ll be prompted to confirm the creation by signing the transaction in your wallet. Once confirmed, your token will be deployed to the Sui Network, and you’ll receive a confirmation message.

Now your token is live and ready to be distributed to your initial holders!

Managing Your Token metadata and mint new tokens with Sui Token Manager.

After creating your token, you can use TokenToolbox’s Token Manager to edit your token’s metadata, mint and burn tokens, or manage the ownership of your contract.

TokenToolbox’s Sui Token Manager

Features of Token Manager:

Mint New Tokens: If you’ve set up a minting strategy, you can mint new tokens to the supply whenever necessary.

Burn Tokens: Reduce the supply by burning tokens, which is useful for deflationary strategies or for removing excess supply.

Update your token logo: Keep your brand design up to date.

Update / revoke authorities: Transfer the control of the contract to another wallet, or revoke completely the ability to make changes to build trust with your holders.

With these tools, you can manage your coin efficiently without needing any coding skills. The Sui Token Manager simplifies even the most advanced operations for non-technical users.

Conclusion: Launching Your Token Made Easy

Creating and managing a token on the Sui Network doesn’t have to be complicated. With TokenToolbox, you can launch your own token with just a few clicks, and easily manage it without any coding knowledge. Whether you’re building a token for a new project, a game, or a community initiative, Sui’s scalability and low fees provide a perfect environment.

Start today by visiting TokenToolbox.app and begin your journey into the world of decentralised tokens on Sui!

Let us know on X what features you would like to see implemented next !

Sui Token Creator
Sui Token Multisender
Sui Token Manager
Token Toolbox

This new token program allows to configure extensions to attach to a token.

For example, the Token Metadata extension enables adding information such as the token’s name, symbol, and icon. The Tax extension allows for the collection of a percentage of each transfer executed by the token.

In this post, we will learn how to manage and collect the tax accumulated by the token.

How to configure the tax of a Solana token?

For this purpose, we will use the Solana Token Manager dApp from Token Toolbox.

Start by connecting your wallet and select your token. The current tax configuration should be automatically loaded and displayed on the UI.

Token2022: Configure your tax

The transfer fee is the percentage collected on every transfer. For example, if a user sends 100,000 tokens with a tax rate of 2%, the recipient will receive 98,000 tokens, while the remaining 2,000 will be collected as tax.

The max fee is the maximum amount of tokens that can be collected as tax in a single transfer. This means that if a transaction would normally incur a higher tax based on the transfer fee, the collected amount will be capped at the max fee instead.

Since only the tax update authority can manage the tax settings, make sure to connect with the correct account to make changes!

Where does the tax go after a transfer?

Unlike most Ethereum smart contracts, where collected taxes are automatically sent to a designated address, Solana’s tax system works differently. When a user executes a transfer, the collected tax remains in their account. In our previous example, the 2,000 tokens will remain in the sender’s account. However, these tokens are frozen, meaning the user can no longer access or spend them.

How to collect Token2022 tax?

Since collecting the tax requires scanning all accounts to identify those with available tokens for withdrawal, we’ve developed an online tool to streamline the process.

Start by selecting your token, the collectable amount will be automatically retrieved and displayed.

Token2022: Collect your tax with Token Toolbox

Since only the withdraw withheld authority can collect the tax, make sure to connect with the correct account before confirming the transaction!

Depending on the number of holders and accounts available for tax collection, you may see a message indicating that multiple transactions are required.

This happens due to Solana’s transaction size limitations. In such cases, the dApp will automatically split the tax collection into multiple transactions.

How to set a custom address as the fee receiver?

If you prefer to send the collected tokens directly to another address (e.g., a black hole address), you can enable the option and fill your target fee receiver address, before confirming the transaction.

specify a custom fee receiver address

That’s it!

After confirming all transactions, a success message will appear and the collected tokens will be in your selected wallet.

The Solana Token Manager tool from Token Toolbox allows you to manage every aspect of your token, including minting and burning tokens, managing and collecting taxes, configuring and updating authorities, and much more — no coding required!

Let us know on X what features you would like to see implemented next !

Solana Token Creator
Solana Token Multisender
Solana Token Manager
Token Toolbox

This revenue can be utilized for various purposes, such as funding project development, supporting token liquidity, or distributing rewards to token holders.

The tax mechanism can also contribute to stabilize the price by discouraging rapid and excessive price fluctuations. The tax acts as a friction point, making it less desirable for traders to engage in speculative short-term trading strategies.
