My last Medium was about why Samsung Galaxies are better than iPhones. To me, the most important reason why Galaxies are better than iPhone is, Galaxies have better features. The following below is about Samsung’s educational apps and why mobile devices help students learn.

Photo by Lacie Slezak on Unsplash

A topic that often runs a cross the mind.

A topic like this is not really thought upon or given any attention, but if you look deeper into this topic you’ll see how important it is. Technology plays a very important role in learning. To illustrate, your cellphone or other mobile device have access to apps. Most of these apps are educational apps. Other than apps there are a lot of different ways mobile devices help learning.

The learning benefits of mobile devices in school.

Photo by Element5 Digital on Unsplash

I believe mobile devices in school will tremendously benefit learning because students will pay attention and students can use the apps to take picture of notes, record lessons, and use the phone agenda to keep track with homework. For example, during class students and teachers/professors can access an education website called Kahoot using there mobile device. Kahoot turns quizzes into a fun completive game. Playing the game is very simple all you have to do is select a quiz that covers the topic you learned or taught in class. If you don’t like any of the quizzes, you can simply make your own.

The non-learning benefits of using mobile devices in school

There are plenty of non-learning benefits that come with a mobile devices. For instance, the recent disaster that happened in Parkland, Florida. During this disaster students were able to use social media and phone calling to alert the police and other students. Just imagine if students didn’t have their phones during this situation. The outcome of this disaster was already atrocious with mobile devices, without mobile devices would be unimaginable. Parent-student safety/medical reason is another reason for mobile devices to be allowed in school. There are times when a student will become medically ill, with that said most parents don’t have their child’s school number locked into their phones, which means they’re most likely to not answer the phone. With students having phones with them, mom or dad is just a phone call away.

Educational Samsung Apps

Samsung has its own app store which means it has apps that only registered Samsung products can use, most of these apps are educational apps for children. To name a few, Stay Within the Lines, 1 2 3, Put the Pieces in the Right Place, What’s Happening on the Bus?, Drive the Bus, and Can You Remember? Almost all of the apps have 4 stars and most of them are free.

Samsung VR

“A person in a virtual reality headset and headphones” by Samuel Zeller on Unsplash

Samsung VR is one of the best things to happen to education. If you don’t know VR stands for Virtual reality, you basically strap on the headset, then watch the world come alive to you. What does this have to do with education? Well, with Samsung VR you can watch your lesson literally come alive. The way lessons appear will definitely keep any student engage. The VR set can also take students on field. A couple years ago Google Cardboard brought the students to a field trip without leaving the school. The field trip was based in another state.

Overall, Mobile devices such as; Samsung Galaxies helps with learning. Mobile devices should be allowed in school because they help with education, they provide safety, students can easily take pictures or record lectures, and they provide a peace of mind for parents. The cellphones in school topic has been an on going argument with both pros and cons. However, Samsung is making it a strong pro by making its own educational apps. As the fight continues, hopefully more companies can make educational apps.

The argument is just, which company makes the best phones? Even though both companies have a long-running phone display, which has brought much success, there is still a prominent argument between the two companies. Some argue that Apple is better than Samsung others counter their argument by stating Samsung is better than Apple. After doing some research on these two companies, in my opinion, Samsung makes better phones than Apple because Samsung phones have better features than Apple.

The history between Apple vs Samsung

The history or beef between Apple vs Samsung is pretty hectic and lengthy. This beef includes many court cases, suing, etc.. The latest court case lasted from October 23rd to November 4th, the case was based of another case in 2012. Apple was upset Samsung didn’t fully pay them one billion dollars, instead of giving them one billion dollars Samsung offered $548 million. The supreme court overturned the ruling in 2012, so now there has to be another court date and Apple could loose even more money. Apple is now has a possibility of receiving less than $400 million. The other court cases are based off of other companies suing each other off because of stolen ideas.

Every company knows that taking shots at Samsung is the worse thing you can do because the way the advertise. Samsung uses comparative advertisement, comparative advertisement is when a company takes shots at its rival using ads and commercials. For example, in 2017 Samsung released a video ad titled: “Growing Up With an Upgrade to Galaxy,” mocks a Apple from the first iPhone all the way down to the iPhone X. Samsung sale rose after this commercials while Apple sales sunk. Samsung saw this as the perfect way to mock Apple’s features.

Features:

Photo by Aaina Sharma on Unsplash

When Apple decided to go brave and completely take away the headphone jack, to listen to music now, iPhone owners have to plug in a connector, then plug in another piece, then finally plug in the earbuds, wires get tangled and become a hassle to deal, not unless you purchase the very expensive blue tooth Apple earbuds. With Samsung, all it takes is a simple plug into the headphone jack. You also receive a free pair of expensive headphones with a purchase of a Galaxy or Note phone!

“A person in a virtual reality headset and headphones” by Samuel Zeller on Unsplash

Virtual reality is another significant feature Samsung phones own. When the Samsung Galaxy S7 was released, a free Gear VR was given to those who had purchased the Galaxy S7. Apple doesn’t even have a signature VR set, and most of their phones are not compatible with VR.

Apple does have a feature called Apple Pay, but just because they have one doesn’t mean Samsung can’t have one. Even though Apple Pay came out first, Samsung Pay is far better than Apple Pay. Most places don’t accept Apple Pay, and Apple Pay doesn’t have promotions as Samsung Pay does. With both companies excelling in making phones it seems the history between Apple and Samsung will grow.

This medium will receive updates.
