This is a job ad. But first, please allow me to tell you a story.

Nine years ago, a happy husband and father of three was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, and his family had an unimaginably tough time while he went through treatment.

Luckily, he made it. But the excruciating experience, and the shocking realization of how hard it is to receive healthcare in a modern society that is anything but modern, got this man’s wife thinking. Maybe, people could use some help.

This was the driving force behind Kind. Today, we’re embarking on a journey to build a cloud-based solution for healthcare. Our humble start has already gained interest and trust from healthcare professionals both locally and across the globe. And this is just the beginning.

My name is Yan, and I work here at Kind — the very place where I found my own sense of purpose. When I was given the task of finding good developers, I turned to my friend and mentor Daniel for help. This is the advice he gave me:

“The software industry moves so fast that hardly anyone has built more than one system with the same up-to-date technologies. I started my career with custom-built frameworks in C++; we even did our own version of XML. Then we did Java for a number of years, and for some reason, I built PHP sites. Then came AWS, which changed the game completely, and we discovered Node. After that, someone came up with containers, and now we are building Serverless. That is just the application side of it, so think about the evolution of database and how “the internet” has changed. You should go find someone who understands the above.”

So I set out to do just that. And, when my colleagues and I sat in a room with a team of nurses and said, “We’re building this for you,” one of them responded, “No one has ever said that to us before.” It was a humbling experience.

This is why we’re here. This is our shared purpose. Would you join us?

/Yan

P.S. See the job descriptions listed below.

Senior Frontend/Backend Developers

We’re on the lookout for talented developers, and this is who you are:

Learning new things is your second nature.

You’ve accomplished plenty and made enough mistakes to consider yourself experienced.

You have an innate drive to ship your code and we trust you’ll do it properly.

Apply here: Senior Front End Developer (Malmö or remote), Senior Back End Developer (Malmö or remote)

Many thanks to Daniel B., Jens B., Carl T., Anders T., Hampus J. and Maddie C. for helping me write this.
