On June 4th 2022, WOWmax Echange founder WOWdegen did an AMA. In this post, the most important takeaways from the AMA are gathered.

1️⃣ About Wowmax

We’re deploying Wowmax as a response to popular needs and demands for WOWswap but soon realized that it is a full-fledged product suite (you can read more from the website).

WOWmax will be on an open protocol and the market will be open for everyone. You should expect all major EVMs to be captured once Wowmax goes live.

2️⃣ Chains Wowmax Is Set To Be Deployed On

We’re deploying Wowmax on the Ethereum, BNB chain and Avalanche first before connecting additional EVM chains. Since Solana has a cap on the number of instructions you may include in a single transaction, we are still investigating if launching WOWmax there is feasible.

In order to prevent other traders from actually taking your profit, you have to develop and seize arbitrage chances within the same transaction. Therefore, it is crucial that aggregation and arbitrage occur simultaneously. We will announce Solana integration at a later stage.

3️⃣ Our Product’s Benefit For WOWswap Holders

Firstly, we keep developing Wowswap. We’re not switching projects. We only intend to develop the two projects (Wowswap and Wowmax) simultaneously.

Our product — WOWswap will be using the WOWmax protocol and it will be the first to be using it. People who trade on WOWswap will get more tokens and this is very exciting, so basically, we will be activating this feature on WOWswap too where you can trade tokens without using leverage for that purpose.

Advertently, we’re proposing lots more benefits but at the moment, they’ve not been decided yet and we can only proceed if the community speaks up and basically supports that ideas.

4️⃣ How Wowmax will generate Revenue

Our top priority at the moment is to establish an efficient aggregation. When that is done and we generate enough value for our users, we will then determine our interest as a protocol so that the protocol can actually get some portion of the value created. This way, we will generate the revenue to fund the regular development of WOWmax.

Basically, the first step is to make the protocol live and to convince everyone that it is beneficial for the community, and like every other reputable DeFi protocol, we will find ways to generate the money for ourselves as well.

5️⃣ WOWmax Roadmap

The protocol is set to go live in the coming months. The exact lunch date will be announced shortly.

First, we’re deploying Wowmax on Ethereum and BNB, and subsequently on other chains. A few months after this, and of course, with a decent market share, we advance to get an audit of the protocol.

We hope to get Wowmax on Metamask in the future. This will be a significant milestone for us, implying widespread use of WOWmax, which is our goal.

In this article we want to explain how WOWmax actually works.

At WOW, we want to give a more profitable exchange by:

1) Finding the optimal exchange path across multiple DEXs.

2) Creating and using arbitrage capabilities during the exchange.

Currently, there is a lot of competition for arbitrage in EVM blockchains. Yet there are several common arbitrage issues:

1) MEV — the profit a miner makes by reordering and adding their own transactions in the blockchain being created.

2) Arbitrage bots (front running, back running, sandwich attacks and others) that manipulate the order of transactions in a block.

Miners and arbitrage bots try to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities in the market. As miners create new blocks they have an advantage over bots because they can directly influence the order of transactions in a block bypassing the gas auction.

The trader wants to exchange a large amount of ETH/USDT for Uniswap, which will increase the price of ETH on Uniswap. At this point, an arbitrage opportunity arises.

Because of the large size of the exchange, the price on Uniswap goes up. At the time of the transaction, the price on the other DEX, CEX has not changed.

The bot/miner can buy ETH at a lower price and sell at a higher price due to the price shift in Uniswap. This usually happens within one block, along with the transaction being attacked.

There are many types of arbitrage and many of them have similar mechanics.

WOWMAX is excited about this problem and we took these issues into account when developing the exchange mechanism.

The main difference between WOWMAX arbitrage and other DEX is that we have implemented a new mechanism “Contract Extractable Value.”

CEV — a mechanism for extracting profit immediately when it occurs within the transaction of exchange through the WOWMAX contract.

Exchange mechanism

We calculate the exchange path and send it to the WOWMAX contract.

A single transaction contains multiple exchanges.

When we perform a swap, we calculate the impact on the price and arbitrage opportunities.

During the first part of the exchange, the price shifts to a DEX.

Then the protocol makes the rest of the swap to balance the price in DEXes and makes the calculations.

The entire sequence of exchanges is done in a single atomic transaction.

Therefore, miners/arbitrage bots cannot affect the order of exchanges within our transaction.

A transaction in the blockchain can consist of several actions.

In our case, all actions are performed within a single transaction. Atomicity guarantees the execution of all actions in the original sequence and the successful completion of the transaction. If an error occurs while performing at least one action, the entire transaction is canceled.

Before and after the exchange with WOWMAX, the prices in the final DEX remain almost the same, since the entire arbitrage opportunity is implemented at the moment of the swap transaction, rather than remaining free as in Uniswap.
