Keeping an organised contacts list is a key part of running successful music promo campaigns. With this in mind, we’ve been hard at work building some powerful new tools to help keep your lists in top shape.

New powerful tools for organising your contacts.

Here are some of the things you can now do in your FATdrop account:

  • Drag and drop to copy people between lists
  • Organise contacts with tags and dynamic tags (more below)
  • Edit multiple recipients at the same time
  • Experience hugely improved search, sorting and paging
  • View full activity logs for any recipient without leaving the page
  • Grant access to campaigns (to single or multiple recipients)

Tags

Now you can tag your recipients to add another layer of organisation on top of mailing lists. For example, you might organise your contacts into different lists — Club, Radio, Blog etc, but then have a Friends tag that has some people from each of those groups. Tags makes those kinds of groupings very easy. For total flexibility you can also convert lists to tags or vice versa.

Introducing Dynamic Tags

Alongside tags, you now also have dynamic tags. These are tags that keep themselves up to date! For example, want to send a promo to all the people that reacted to a previous promo? You can now do that with ease. We’re planning to add more dynamic tags to the list in the near future — by all means get in touch if there’s a particular tag you’d like to see added.

Please Note: Deleted Addresses Has Changed

We’ve made a subtle but important change to deleted addresses. It used to be the case that recipients had to be on a list to receive promos. So, if you deleted someone from of all of your lists, they would no longer be able to receive promos. We discovered that in some cases this was being done by accident. So now, if you remove someone from your lists, they will still be seen in All Addresses and they will still be able to access promos. If you want to remove someone entirely (and stop them from receiving promos) just select them and click Delete. We have handled all existing data so you shouldn’t have any surprises, but please review your deleted addresses to make sure you don’t want those people to get your promos. Also, you can now really delete addresses… time to empty the trash.

Beta Testing

These changes are now live on all FATdrop accounts. You can enable the new features by clicking Try it out! on the mailing lists page. Please get in touch if you’d like any more info on anything or if you have comments or feedback.
