New in the Lab: FATdrop Client API
Opening up new ways to connect to your FATdrop data.
We are pleased to announce the FATdrop Client API v1 — which opens up new ways to connect with your FATdrop account data.
WTF is an API?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a standardised way to read and write data. It lets you customise or automate to the way you do things, but requires some tech knowledge to use. Typically, a programmer would use an API to get data from somewhere (a dataset generated by a web service, for instance) to use in some way. The FATdrop API gives programmatic access to your FATdrop data.
What can I do with the FATdrop Client API v1?
Some examples of the kinds of things you can do are:
- Pulling your report data out of your account to display in a custom format.
- Syncing contact data with another database.
- Adding people who subscribe to your newsletter to a FATdrop mailing list.
What can’t I do with the API?
There are a number of features not yet available in the API, such as uploading tracks and full email sending campaigns. These, along with many other features, are on a consideration list for v2. Please shout to let us know what you’d like to be able to do.
How can I access the API?
Just get in touch with us at support@fatdrop.co.uk and we can enable it on your account and send you a link to the documentation.
