We’re rolling out an intuitive user-interface update to improve the promo experience

New promos are in beta testing

The familiar FATdrop promo design has had a remix! Following great feedback in our first round of testing, we’re now opening up the beta of the new promos to a wider group. If you’d like to give them a try, just email us and we’ll stick you on the list as soon as we can. Alternatively, you can wait for the full public beta which will be happening very soon. Here’s a run-down of the new design:

Touch-friendly docked player

The player is now docked to the bottom of of the promo so it’s never off screen and always easy to access. This significantly improves usability, especially on hand-held devices.

Ultra-sound waveforms

The new waveforms allow you to see more detail within tracks, making it easier to efficiently navigate through different sections of audio. It also addresses an issue where the waveforms of very loud tracks could appear as solid rectangles.

Better device support

The responsive design looks beautiful on any size screen. We have also addressed accessibility, making the player and feedback form compatible with screen-readers used by visually impaired people.

Other Announcements

With several big services now offering ways to track new releases, and with other exciting projects fighting for their position at the front of our development roadmap, we have decided to stop work on the Cues platform. That also means we’ll be retiring the Pro DJ accounts. This has been a difficult decision but we feel that streamlining the service to allow us to focus on core features is the right move. We’d like to thank everyone that took part in using those parts of the site for their support.
