Analysis of my weekly Medium stats

Something surprising I found out

Almost every week I receive a message from Medium with some statistics of the past week. The subject of the email says “Stats for your stories: Feb 18-Feb 25” for example. With this email Medium tells us how many views and reads we had in the past week and which stories had how many views. However, only the most successful stories are listed.

Since I don’t publish that many articles and don’t have a big following, my weekly stats are of course limited. I usually just take a quick look at the information in the email and then save it.

But I have now taken the trouble and analyzed the statistics emails of the last three months. The following table shows the result. I have listed the views and reads for each week and then also calculated the read ratio.

In addition, I wanted to know what influence a new article has on my numbers.

Here are the results:

As you can see, I had a total of 1,056 views and 634 reads over the twelve weeks. This means a read ratio of 60%. The views varied between 47 and 130.
