This content marketing strategy is based on YouTube videos and Google ads. But this particular strategy is like a double whammy. You get video views and engagement (feeding the YouTube algorithm).
Plus you get exposure to the URL you use as the redirect URL with the call-to-action button. All for like $0.012 cents per 30-second Google ad view! Much cheaper than your usual Google ad.
But ranking a video on page one of YouTube is the easy part, maintaining the ranking position is not. Views, comments, likes, etc. Telling the algorithm that people are interested in the video. To the best of my understanding anyway.
But also something I have personally tested and experienced. And found the video activity to be the one preventing your YouTube videos from going from page one to page none within days and sometimes even hours.
Plus you do not pay for impressions and visits less than 30 seconds. This makes this a rather cost-effective strategy in my opinion. Besides, you also get to feed the algorithm and maintain the ranking position.

Apart from the Canva one-page websites for affiliate offers as mentioned above. Medium story URLs are also accepted (as the call-to-action button redirect) with Google video ads and YouTube.

You will notice that this video has been uploaded to YouTube 7 days ago (as illustrated above). With 832 video views at the time of writing this article, and an average of 26 views per hour!
But this same video also ranked for search phrases directly related to the topic. And by the time I published this post around 2 days later, this video had 1207 video views of 30 seconds and longer!
In fact, 5 search phrases are ranked at position one on YouTube. This all plays a part and is combined with this Google ads strategy for dirt-cheap USA visitors. It can only be an explosive combination.
Admittedly, I am still giving it more time because this is a time-frame game. I am just explaining and sharing the strategy with you. Because I was blown away at how cheap these USA-targeted visitors are.

Therefore, I can assure you that these 2 URLs are accepted with Google video ads as the redirect with the call-to-action button. PLUS you also get exposure to whatever URL you use in your video description.
For the purpose of this particular content marketing strategy (getting more views to Medium stories) though, the link in your video description must be the link to your Medium story.
In turn, your medium story can contain your affiliate offer. But you have to abide by the Medium Rules. Please Read The Medium Rules and understand them properly.

I have spent a total of R400 (ZAR — South African Rand), which is around $23 at the current exchange rate. Setting a Google ads budget of around R130 ($7.50) per day, for 3 days.
Below are the statistics for (almost) one day, where I spent R126.60 (ZAR), which is around $7! 496 video views, but only 2 websites (Medium Story) visits. What does this mean?
It means I will have to work on more curious videos that can result in more people following the call-to-action button. It is a strategy I am testing to get both video views and Medium story reads.
Always remember that constructing any content marketing strategy will require testing. In this case, even spend a little money, and perhaps even lose some. That is just how this all works.
Why just 3 days? Well, although I use this strategy to drive traffic to affiliate links. I also wanted to show you what this content marketing strategy can do for your Medium stories.
Admittedly, something I only thought of recently. But it works with the mother strategy, so it will work with the Medium story strategy. As it clearly does.
Another advantage here is that Medium does not take kindly to “buying Medium views” and I did confirm this with Medium support. In comparison to these “traffic packages” these visitors from Google are cheaper!
