How I quit my 6-figure management job to make $1 on medium
In 2021 I decided to quit my 6-figures job in tech management to become a content creator.
After devoting 15 long, gratifying years of my life to a corporate career, I made a decision that took everyone by surprise — I decided to leave my job to become a content creator. With a successful tenure that saw me navigating through three distinct fields of study, I had climbed the ladder of success to the very top. I was the head of a thriving business unit, commanding a six-figure income, and by all accounts, I had arrived.
However, beneath the seemingly perfect exterior, I felt an urge to reinvent myself. It was as if a new chapter was beckoning me, and I decided to respond. So, I chose to leave the known territories of corporate life behind, to dive into the uncertain and exciting world of content creation.
Swapping management and coding for content creation was not just a professional shift, but also a profound personal transformation. I was venturing into an unknown terrain, aware of the challenges it would present. I knew I could not make a substantial income from content creation overnight. But I had a plan. While I worked on nurturing my newfound passion, I continued to pay my bills through freelance consulting and coding gigs.
