I’d Like to See a Dice Roll Button on Medium

Do you ever feel the urge to gamble? Spin that wheel. Bet on double 0’s. Arm wrestle someone for your house.

Haha, just joking. Most of us can’t afford one of those anymore.

But alas, I’m not talking about watching the dice fall in an artificially oxygenated illuminated faux-art museum full of entertainment, booze, and gambleholics.

I’m talking about the simplistic joy found in discovery.

Google has it. Formerly-pure sites like OnlyFans and Omegle used it to great applause before falling to our baser human instincts — the idea that everything can be used as porn, if you try hard enough.

I’m talking about a random article button like you see on Mr. Google:

Despite Google missing an obvious opportunity to add the word “, Punk” on the end of that button — it’s an incredibly interesting idea.

I can’t even remember the last time I used it. But people must, otherwise, Google would’ve removed it from their precious homepage real estate decades ago.

I mean seriously, think about it for a second. Google.com is THE most visited website in the world. And the page is almost entirely blank! They list a language setting, access to Gmail…
