Is Using Artificial Intelligence Plagiarism?

Content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) should be labeled appropriately.

According to the University of Oxford, “Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgment. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition.”

AI writing appears to be the wave of the future thanks to the technology gods. Fair enough — there is no stopping “progress.” However, it is the duty of writers and publishers to acknowledge when computer-generated content is used.

A well-known writer on Medium recently published a story about how the AI program known as Jenni can create a decent 500-word article based on a single-sentence prompt. That is with the free-trial version of Jenni. Imagine what one can achieve with a paid subscription to the service.
