Medium’s Algorithm Thinks I Am A Woman, Married (got Divorced) and Have Kids
My feed is worse than Humpty Dumpty falling off a wall.
Okay, let me set the record straight. I don’t know what’s up with Medium as I have been away from the platform for months.
Before I left, I deactivated my account only to reactivate, which resulted in my statistics (views and reads) dropping to zero.
Unphased, I am getting my numbers back up, but there have been a string of events that are odd. My feed thinks I am married, which I am flattered by as that is a goal of mine somewhere in the future. My regular feed, also called “for you” shows articles about being a good married partner, dealing with divorce and subjects I do not read or click on often.
To top it off, I got suggested an article on how to “pleasure my clitoris” that I found hilarious, by the way. In case you’re wondering, I do not have one. Not that having one is bad.
However, I am convinced that the Medium Algorithm thinks I am a woman. Great! I think women are powerful and resilient, as has been my life experiences. Yet, I am not a woman, and maybe in my next life — if I ever get a second chance — I wouldn’t mind being a woman.
