Napoleon — 2023 Movie Review

I haven’t even seen the trailer however the cast stand out to me. Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix combined have a huge weight in the movie industry, as well as the intriguing history of the last Emperor of our times.
The Characters
The main two characters in the movie are Napoleon and Josephine, any others are felt as if not enough space or importance is given.
Very good choice of having Joaquin Phoenix starring Napoleon for its lookalike. Quite a long time since he played in the Gladiator as a maniac Prince but are still present the characteristics of disturbed and basic human and emotional needs lack portrayed magisterially.
Josephine on the other hand feels like is trapped and never released. Her boldness and sparkling character dissipates into the unknown and her determination to embrace the role of supporting the Emperor.
Somewhat weird is that I have discovered there was another female character which I didn’t remember from the movie and that is the actress LUDIVINE SAGNIER playing best friend of Josephine, Theresa Cabarrus. However her role was cut out from the movie and we will never see how she played.
