***Feedium update #8***

Hi Mediumites,

Just wanted to share some of the latest (and potentially greatest?) from Feedium during this past month.

From JJ’s Vault

  1. I hit 10,000 followers! A) I’m grateful, it’s an awesome goal I’ve been working on for a while now. B) I shared some of my insights on how to get there if you’re also on the hunt.
  2. I did a deep dive into opening lines/hooks. I collected the first line (or few) from 90 of Medium’s biggest articles and organized them by genre. It’s one of the most important parts of writing essays/stories/articles so use this to up your game.
  3. Another recent deep dive — how to write a smashing headline/title. I curated 47 pieces of advice from 20 of the biggest Medium writers on how to do it.
  4. For you fellow aspiring writers out there, I tried collecting 17 of the best books on writing to help learn the art form. If you have any more suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Guest Writers

A random collection of some of the more popular posts from guest writers on Feedium lately:

  1. The Medium bonus is smarter now.
  2. Here’s what happens when you publish 100 stories in 100 days (besides finger-cramping)
  3. Stop stealing her stories!
  4. Chris explains how he uses Google to make money on Medium
  5. Quy is taking a survey, help him out!
  6. Getting noticed online is a contact sport. Here’s one explaining how to jump ahead.
  7. PS I Love You may have a few sparks of hope left.
  8. Medium rolled out a fix to all problems. (Note: it still hasn’t made me dinner.)
  9. 5 curated articles in 5 different publications = 1 interesting story
  10. Writers: Readers Literally Only Want One Thing (and It’s F*cking Disgusting)”

That’s it for this month! Let me know if you’d like to see a weekly, bi-weekly, or never-again-please-leave-me-alone summary and I’ll do my best to keep at it.
