What you will learn from this article.

Repurpose and recycle your content into videos.

Share your existing content as LinkedIn articles.

Turning your Medium stories into free eBooks.

Publishing for free in all major online bookstores.

Repurpose and recycle your content into videos.

There are so many ways to recycle or repurpose your Medium stories with content writing and marketing strategies. In fact, you can repurpose or recycle any content you own. Providing it is your own work.

We will start with, in my opinion, one of the rather effective strategies. By just turning your Medium stories into YouTube videos. Keep the videos under 3 minutes, so you can use them later for YouTube Video Ads.

Because with a YouTube video ad strategy through Google ads. I have figured out a way to get 30-second video views, at $0.012 cents per 30-second video view! If any view is less than 30 seconds, you don’t pay!

But there is also the addition of a call to action button, from where you can redirect to any affiliate offer. But not the affiliate link directly, Google will not approve your ad.

You need some form of a website or bridge page. And if you do not have your own websites or bridge pages yet. Then you can use a tool called Canva for one-page websites.

You can also use Google Sites for the same purpose. Because both these kinds of sites are accepted with Google ads and Google YouTube video ads. Therefore, no more struggling to get your Google ad approved!

But that strategy is already covered extensively in another Medium story. You might want to read more about that in the article below. Learn how to get 30-second video views from Google ads for pennies, literally!

Oh, and allow me to add that these are USA visitors. Interest, age, and gender targeted. This means they are looking for your offer if you do the targeting correctly. Just follow along in the Medium story above.

Moving on, just thought I’d throw this in there, so you know. There are options for both paid and free traffic to your YouTube video. Once you have turned your Medium story into an HD YouTube video.

Just to give you a better idea. Below is a video I created from one of my Medium stories with Canva. And I am no YouTube superstar…yet. But getting there one video and one strategy at a time!

When you watch the video below on YouTube, you will notice the link in the video description is cloaked. It is not the Medium story link directly. This is done with a cloaking plugin called Pretty Links Lite. (affiliate link)

Yes, in order to be able to use this particular cloaking strategy, you will need your own blog and hosted domain. This is one of the reasons I like WordPress so much, I get to use little “magic wands” called plugins.

Why would I cloak my Medium story then? Well, this cloaking strategy makes the cloaked link indexable in search engines. Which is also a strategy I use to index affiliate offers in search engines.

That however is just an added advantage when it comes to turning your Medium story into an HD YouTube video. Because this way both your Medium story direct URL and the cloaked URL are indexable in search engines!

But don’t neglect reading this entire article too, so you can have several ways to recycle or repurpose your Medium stories and content. Although we are covering a few different options.

I can assure you that these are rather effective strategies to repurpose your content and make money writing. Creating a video from your Medium story is super easy.

It can also be done with one of two free tools. Canva and Lumen5, however, are also a topic I have covered in much more detail with the Medium story below. Just follow the easy steps and have your YouTube videos ready in minutes!

Share your existing content as LinkedIn articles.

Repurpose your Medium stories by publishing them as LinkedIn articles, then you can even share your articles with LinkedIn groups. But please steer clear of the exact replica copy-and-paste option.

You may want to change your headers and subheaders (H1 and H2 headers). Then just change the article content slightly or, this is the one instance where I can recommend spinning your article.

I just “feel better” when one “spins” your own content. Admittedly, personally, I just kind of “rewrite” the Medium story. Be sure to change around 10% to 20% of your article content, that should suffice.

Perhaps you can add to your article or turn two articles into one. Simply mix and match your subtitle content (H2 headers). Or use more than two of your Medium stories to create one article for LinkedIn.

Just be creative, but when you use multiple subheaders to create one LinkedIn article from your Medium story. Then be sure to stick to the same topic, do not mix different topics which are not related to one another.

You also want to change your presentation image and use a different image for your LinkedIn article. The options are endless! Because from an affiliate marketing point of view.

Medium and LinkedIn are two of the few “giants” that allow you to share affiliate offers. Apart from YouTube with video descriptions. But there are rules, so be sure to read every site’s rules and regulations.

But more importantly, understand the rules. Or you might get your profile suspended. Do not try and rush into affiliate marketing on Medium or LinkedIn before understanding the rules, that is all up to you.

For example, there are things like affiliate disclaimers, and many more requirements when you want to leverage writing on Medium and LinkedIn for affiliate marketing.

Turning your Medium stories into free eBooks.

No, you do not need any fancy tools, you can create stunning eBooks with Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. Just get to know your way around Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I say again, take your time.

Because there are certain things needed with eBook writing, therefore a bit more research from your side. And I leave the research up to you for a reason. Because when you “figure things out” it tends to burn into your memory.

All I am doing is giving you a basic structure with proven content repurposing strategies. Because you can create stunning eBooks with Word and PowerPoint while repurposing your Medium stories.

As illustrated below, this eBook was created in Microsoft Word. I used Canva to create all book covers, images, and images editing where necessary. This particular eBook (available free in this article footer) guides people through Quora spaces.

Looks pretty “easy” right? That’s because it is. Once you get to know your way around Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. You are already more than halfway “there”.

Use your Medium stories as “chapters” for instance. Especially when you are a “long form” content writer. And prefer longer content as I do. When you have long-form articles on Medium, let’s say 1000–3000 words.

Then it is super easy to reach the suggested 10,000 words for a recognizable eBook. Now imagine how many eBooks you can create when you have, let’s say, hundreds of stories published on Medium.

Then, once done you simply save your eBook as a PDF file, and find ways to give away your eBooks for free. Kind of like what I’m doing in the footer of this exact article you are reading right now.

But here’s a little “trick” with free eBooks. You can include your affiliate offer in the footer area of the eBook. That way it will be available at the bottom of each page. And in that, more traffic and sales!

But your eBook, especially with marketing should be about solving a problem. Earn your reader’s trust by providing quality. Because when people like you then they will support you.

But once you have your reader’s trust, they will start doing “business” with you. And that is a fact, trust comes before sales. This is also why so many people are still failing. They “have it back to front”.

But you can also choose to sell your eBook, only then you must not include any affiliate links. Especially when you publish with giant bookstores like Amazon for instance.

Next, I will show you how to publish the eBooks you created with your Medium stories in all major online bookstores. 100% FREE! A rather remarkable free publisher I came across.

Publishing for free in all major online bookstores.

Apart from using the eBooks you created with your Medium articles as free PDF files. You can also choose to self-publish your eBook. Kind of like a double-income opportunity. But you will have access to this publisher shortly.

Make money by selling your eBooks in all major online bookstores. Or getting sales from the affiliate offers from the free eBooks you give away. But your affiliate offer in this case needs to be related to the topic of your eBook.

For instance, let’s just say your eBook is about “How to write an eBook”, then an affiliate offer like an eBook writing course should be rather profitable. Why? Well, why is your reader interested in your free eBook?

Yes, because they want to know “How to write an eBook”. Then you need to offer value with your eBook, and a guide on how to do that regardless if they purchase your affiliate eBook “course” or not.

That is where the “trust” comes in. When your content solves a problem, then people will be more curious about your affiliate offer. That is just how this whole writing and making money online “thing” works.

The publisher is called BookRix, and you can simply sign up for 100% free. They do not charge you a single dime to publish your work in over 40 major online bookstores.

These include Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Google Books, Rakuten, Thalia, Weltbild, and many more. All you have to do is copy and paste your eBook content from your Word or PowerPoint document into the BookRix on-site editor.

Okay, so where’s the “catch”, right? Well, if you can call it that, they do take 30% of your book sales once you start getting sales. But apart from that you do not pay a single dime.

This, I think is rather fair. Considering they are doing all the work to get your eBooks published in all major online bookstores. But, as with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Get to know your way around BookRix.

Now you have 3 different ways to repurpose or recycle your Medium stories to make money online with writing. Although there are several other ways, I find these four to be rather newbie or beginner-friendly.

Selling Your eBooks.

Giving Away Free eBooks.

LinkedIn Articles.

Turning Medium Stories Into Videos.

With YouTube videos, turning your Medium story into a video as a means of repurposing your content. Then you want to link to the Medium story in the video description.

That way, you get more views to your Medium stories too. Combining Medium, YouTube and LinkedIn means the opportunity to leverage 36.5 BILLION visitors per month!

That excludes the sales you can get through publishing with BookRix. I think you have pretty much to keep yourself busy with right now. So, I will leave you with it. Enjoy the strategies and keep writing and creating!

You already have all the content to create your eBook with your Medium stories. All you have to do is learn how to structure your eBook layout, and how to “package” your eBook. You also know at least one way of giving away your free eBook!
