Feel secures new partnership with insurance leaders in Germany
Feel, the holistic mental health care program is continuing to grow in the healthcare sector and is gaining support from top insurance organisations. We have partnered with two leaders in the health and life insurance industry in Germany; the insurance provider Gothaer Life Insurance and SCOR, the largest reinsurer in the USA. This new deployment of the Feel program aims to prevent and treat occupational disability caused by mental health disorders such as stress or burn-out.
Gothaer Life Insurance is the subsidiary of one of the largest German insurance companies with premium income of around EUR 4.4 billion and around 4.1 million insured members and relies on high-quality personal advice to customers and a wide range of digital services to offer to both private and corporate customers.
Whilst SCOR, the world’s fourth-largest reinsurer, uses its industry-recognised expertise and cutting-edge financial solutions to provide its clients with a diversified, innovative and value-added range of solutions to control and manage risk.
What is the partnership’s aim?
According to the Robert Koch Institute study, the number of days off in Germany due to mental disorders has risen continuously since 1997, with nearly 1 out of 10 people in Germany exhibiting depressive symptoms. And an internal SCOR analysis of the performance of various life insurance portfolios revealed that in some cases claims related to mental health exceed 30%.
Mental healthcare is one of the most pressing issues globally and studies have shown that evidence-based techniques help people deal with stress easier and also feel better overall.
Gothaer Life Insurance aims to prevent their customer’s from occupational disability by offering the Feel Program to them, and because the Feel Program is based on evidence-based techniques, it was the natural choice for Gothaer who ensure their customers’ mental wellbeing is cared for as much as their physical wellbeing by supporting them with reliable health and life programs.
As a reinsurer, SCOR can enable insurance companies such as Gothaer to act as a reliable partner in the event of a claim, but also offer preventive solutions such as Feel. The hope being that in the future, insurers will be able to achieve higher customer loyalty through programs like Feel.
Early results
