Product

  • Launching Android Beta testing this week 😏
  • After multiple requests from users to replace “Trans” in our gender options, we listened and introduced “Beyond”. We hope this will cater for our diverse user base and better represent the community until we redesign and rewrite some of the app to allow for the inclusion of more options.

Design

  • New animated backgrounds for the Majestic Membership page are ready to be implemented.

iOS

  • We’ve worked on adding scripts (Fastlane) to speed up the process of building and distributing the app. These scripts are going to help us deliver updates to you quicker and enable us to spend more time focusing on adding new features and fixing bugs.
  • This week has seen a lot of small UI and UX adjustments in the iOS app. We’ve been working to polish the UI to benefit our users and make the process of using the app as enjoyable as possible. For example, only enabling buttons to be tapped when they are guaranteed not to produce an error — no more frustrating error messages!
  • The Future Connection banner now has an arrow to make it stand out more.
  • You can now immediately remove disconnected chats by tapping anywhere on the message — no more time wasted trying to tap the small dismiss icon.
  • Group chats can now only be created when you select two or more users to join you — it’s not a group otherwise.
  • For those of you using coupled or paired accounts, you are now correctly represented in the app. You will no longer be marked as single.
  • The animations in the on boarding/tutorial steps have been refined to remove a pesky bug.
  • If you disconnect from a partner, you will no longer see their information lingering on your profile
  • We’ve worked hard to improve the responsiveness of the swipe gestures in the app, this should make things feel much more seamless.
  • We’ve also fixed a few underlying issues behind the scenes. You can now be sure that your profile always contains the latest information and you will not be receiving error messages that don’t make sense.

Android

Over the last week we’ve focused on UI improvement to give you a better experience on Feeld:

  • You are able to dislike or like someone without needing to close their profile beforehand.
  • You can reset scrolling on profile details so you don’t miss anything while navigating through profiles.
  • We have improved the visualisation and editing of profile information.
  • Sliders are now super smooth.
  • In-app notifications can now host more content.
  • You can tap to remove connections who have disconnected from you.
  • We have fixed the expanding/collapsing icon rotation so a user can better understand when a connection list is expanded or collapsed.
  • You can view profiles by tapping on a profile photo while in a conversation.

Backend

  • Working on a few top secret projects we can‘t talk about yet. Watch this space.
  • Our backend team is in learning mode, acquiring new skills.

Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for next week’s update.
