Every Monday, we look forward to the weekend and every Sunday, we feel the pre-Monday blues. Life is now nothing but a series of these feelings and we have now stopped thinking about doing something different. We are either making plans to sleep for hours, or partying with friends or trying out a different restaurant.

Weekends are for relaxing, weekends are for living, weekends are for doing nothing. If I’d ask a thousand people what is a good weekend, I am sure I’d receive thousand different responses.

If you really think about it, weekends are 48 hours to your disposal! Doesn’t it sound like a LOT of time?

It actually is and here are some things that you can incorporate to make your weekends worthwhile:

Exercise

We can’t explain enough to make you realize the importance and benefits of exercising. Considering that we all have started at least counting our steps, we are somewhat aware of the importance of exercise. Taking time off your weekend to engage yourselves in some exercises or any creative, fun, outdoor exercise will not only get your blood pumping, but will definitely help you remain disciplined, which can be valuable in a demanding work environment, and can reduce the long-term effects of stress as well. And regular exercising makes you look good and feel good, so imagine the confidence boost always!

Pursue a Hobby

When most of us have leisure time, do we do what truly makes us happy or do we opt for what’s easy? Easy wins it most of the time. Think of the times that you were in school and if some one would ask you what is it that you actually want to be or enjoy doing the most? Are you doing any of it?

Cultivating a hobby is a fantastic way to unwind after a long week, whether you’re playing a sport, pursuing photography, travelling, exploring your culinary side or learning new languages. Honestly, more than unwinding; engaging in side projects and creative hobbies can result in enhanced work performance by way of encouraging creative thinking to solve work-related problems.

Bottom line: don’t feel guilty about making time for your hobbies. Enjoy every minute of it!

Build Relationships

Successful people are willing to step outside their comfort zones in an effort to meet new people — regardless of any professional circumstances surrounding that effort. Even if you don’t wish to network around and meet new people, I’d simply suggest that you invest more quality time with the people who know, the family you love being around and grow a stronger bond.

In the end, we are all just humans, living in the idea that it is nothing but love and people around that will help our brokenness and make us prosper!

Did you know — Ex President Barack Obama makes the most of his free time with his two daughters Malia and Sasha. Billionaire Mark Cuban may be a shark on TV, but switches to Dad mode at home with his wife and two daughters.

Overall, any weekend is all about restoring your energy and as per an internationally renowned expert and best-selling author Julie Morgenstern, the formula for any good weekend is “PEP” → which stands for Physical Health, Escapes and People.

Whatever you are doing this weekend, make sure you have a great one! :)
