Catalyzing Innovation for Female Health
FemTech Collective is joining efforts with the investment firm Bay Angels to host one of the first FemTech Founders pitch events designed to connect interested investors with innovative FemTech startups. FemTech Founders Pitch Female Focused Health Technology is the first event in what will be a series of unique and impactful events aimed at catalyzing innovation in the FemTech sector.
FemTech Collective was created to help entrepreneurs navigate some of the unique challenges that exist when creating these types of products and services:
- Building FemTech products takes a significant amount of time and capital
- The market is still at a very nascent stage of growth
- Cultural and social barriers sometimes come in the way of women’s health issues; some issues are even perceived as taboo subjects with women reluctant to address them
- Majority of venture capital is controlled by male partners that may have difficulty identifying with the problem
Despite the unique roadblocks that exist for FemTech startups, the innovators creating these new products and services snagged over 1.1 billion in funding since 2013, and there is a projected 200 Billion Dollar market opportunity for them going forward.
