Oakland, CAThe Valley Outsiders (TVO) podcast and ICA are partnering to host The Accelerator Mini-Series, a four-part online series helping Bay Area entrepreneurs access the resources and support they need to scale their businesses and find funding in an economy transformed by COVID-19.

Each live, 1-hour session will address a different challenge facing early-stage entrepreneurs, with topics including startup problem-solving, getting guidance, building resilience, and finding funding. Hosted on Zoom, the series is designed to be interactive, allowing entrepreneurs in the audience to ask questions and share their own experiences while engaging with business experts.

The Accelerator Mini-Series is free for attendees, with sessions scheduled for January 7, January 21, February 3, and February 17. Tickets for all four events are available on Eventbrite.

Kamilah Richardson, co-host of TVO podcast and co-founder of Just Be says the need for engagement is one of the primary motivators for creating this online series.

“As entrepreneurs we need to connect with one another, and the usual ways we connect aren’t possible right now. Many of us are transitioning into building community online, and we want to do that in an authentic way that’s more engaging than just posting in a Facebook group and hoping someone will answer.”

Nicole Dahlstrom, TVO podcast co-host and co-founder of FemTech Collective says partnering with ICA was a natural decision.

“Just Be, FemTech Collective, and TVO were all started in the past couple years and ICA has been growing for 20 years. We see this as the coming together of diverse communities at different phases, but with similar mindsets and missions leveraging each other’s talents. I think it’s a really cool mix.”

The Valley Outsiders is a podcast for the entrepreneurs, innovators, change-makers, and rule-breakers outside the valley working hard to create their own stories of success. Join Oakland-based entrepreneurs Nicole Dahlstrom and Kamilah Richardson for community, resources, and radically honest stories from women founders trying to make it big.

ICA is a non-profit with 20+ years of experience supporting small businesses. ICA partners with, mentors, and invests in underestimated Bay Area entrepreneurs to close the racial and gender wealth gaps and build an economy that works for all. Since 1996 they’ve worked with 600 companies to raise $300M in capital, creating 5,500 jobs and generating over $1B in revenue.
