To celebrate the start of April, I’m finally proud to announce a new Feren OS theme change that’s coming today. That’s right, I changed Feren OS’s theme again!

When making this new Feren OS theme, I wanted to make sure that the theme could be better maintained to be more in-line with KDE Plasma, so for this theme change I’ve decided to be as close as possible to KDE Plasma’s own theme while keeping the Feren OS brand.

Now, we would change the colour scheme to Breeze Light, too, to further match KDE Plasma’s own theme, but we decided that this was too generic and wouldn’t set Feren OS apart, so we’ve made some adjustments to keep the established Feren OS branding intact, as well as adding more KDE Plasma branding to our default theme to make sure you know you’re using Feren OS with Plasma. We hope you will enjoy the changes we’ve made.

Now, without further ado, it’s time to reveal the NEW Feren OS theme:

The NEW Feren OS Theme, now don’t ask me or my son for anything ever again

To further this move, we’re also working on integrating more of the KDE brand into our own branding, starting with our logo. To do this, we’re now recolouring our logo to match the highlight colour of Breeze and therefore our new theme, with a transitionary period to this logo starting today. We hope you’ll look forward to it and this new theme coming to Feren OS!

That’s it for today. We’re also working on some other exciting changes such as making windows go extremely dark when inactive and more! We can’t wait to let you try out these changes.

The new Feren OS theme will be arriving a little later on April 1st 2021.

Happy April Fools, everybody! If you want this joke theme for some reason, I’ve uploaded the colour scheme at https://store.kde.org/p/1499804/. The Application Style in use is Breeze.

Furthermore, the source of inspiration for this was Microsoft Windows Codename Longhorn (aka Windows Vista Pre-Release) given its infamously blue Plex theme.
