Hello,

Here is Fetch.AI’s community newsletter for the week commencing 15 July. Stay up to date by following us on Twitter.

Highlight of the week

South Korea Meetups

We had a fantastic time in Seoul this week meeting the South Korean blockchain community. CTO Toby Simpson spoke at our first solo Fetch.AI meetup in South Korea about our vision for a decentralized, multi-agent system.

We then joined teams from Celer Network, Elrond Network and Harmony at Binance’s Launchpad meetup where Toby discussed how our Synergetic Contracts will revolutionize the IoT.

Upcoming events

Cambridge Meetup (9 August, Cambridge)

Hot on the heels of our meetups in South Korea, we’re also keen to catch up with our supporters closer to home. Come and meet the Fetch.AI team at the Devonshire Arms pub in Cambridge on the 9 August. Beers are on us 🍻

Fetch.AI Technical Bounty Program now open 🏁

Help us improve the reliability and performance of our technology. Find and reporting technical issues and be awarded FET 💰

Award structure

  • Critical: $10,000 in FET
  • Major: $6,000 in FET
  • Medium: $2,500 in FET
  • Low: $800 in FET

More bounties coming soon involving autonomous agents, mobile applications and much more that everyone can take part in!

Synergetic Contract Hackathon 0x03; (10 July-31 August, Online)

Develop a ride-sharing Synergetic Contract using Fetch.AI technology. Over 100,000 FET tokens available in prizes.

Carpooling is great for your pocket and the environment, so it’s no surprise that ride-sharing apps like UberPool™ are so popular. To connect riders with drivers and process payments, apps charge a substantial fee. Fetch.AI’s synergetic computing technology provides the infrastructure to deliver this service without the middleman, returning power and profit to the individual.

We want you to build a ride-sharing service using our Synergetic Contracts and agents. With a prize pool of over 100,000 FET, we’re offering substantial rewards:

🥇 First prize: 50,000 FET

🥈 Second prize: 30,000 FET

🥉 Third prize: 20,000 FET

1,000 FET will be awarded to everyone who completes the project and delivers a working solution. Access resources and submit your application by 31 August here.

Agent Hackathon 0x02;

Agent Hackathon 0x02; held in our Cambridge office this week was a great success!

Local developers and multi-agent system enthusiasts competed to develop the best trading agent for a hypothetical upcoming music festival.

The teams adopted a wide variety of approaches and perspectives. Some built advanced autonomous agents on top of our architecture using neural networks and deep learning to enable their agents to choose optimal prizes. Others used our pre-configured template agents and fine tuned them with their own parameters.

AI and machine learning expert Dr Ani Calinescu from the University of Oxford was on the judging panel, alongside Fetch.AI head of research Jonathan Ward and computational economics researcher David Minarsch.

Congratulations to all of our winners who received a share of the 10,000 FET prize pool.

New starters join Fetch.AI’s research team

We’re excited to welcome both Yujian Ye and Matt McDonnell to our research team. Yujian joins Fetch.AI as a machine learning scientist and Matt joins Fetch.AI as a senior research engineer.

Energy transition is the perfect use case for decentralized multi-agent systems, and Yujian is an expert in this domain. His knowledge of game theory and reinforcement learning will also benefit other parts of Fetch.AI’s tech stack.

Matt’s background in theoretical modeling and numerical simulation will help us deliver our decentralized exchange and other DeFi ambitions.
