Fetch.AI is pleased to welcome Kevin Chen to our US team.

Kevin is a software developer, data analyst and technology advocate based in New York City with extensive experience in both finance and blockchain domains.

After graduating from the University of Virginia in 2014 with a Bachelors in Computer Science, Kevin began his career on Wall Street: first as a back-end developer at Citigroup Inc. then a data analyst at a multi-billion dollar credit hedge fund Aristeia Capital where he passed Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.

In 2016, Kevin developed a passion for blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi) and became an independent researcher in his spare time in the Ethereum ecosystem. In late 2017, Kevin joined the IOTA Foundation as an Evangelist where he founded the global 140+ member IOTA Evangelist Network (IEN) community, co-organized the now 1800+ member IOTA NYC Meetup group, and spoke at various universities and conferences about the differences and trade-offs between blockchains and DAGs. Following his stint at IOTA in mid-2018, Kevin focused on more entrepreneurial pursuits, including designing a Tangle-based last-mile delivery tracking app for an international logistics company.

Kevin is joining Fetch.AI as a blockchain analyst and is working with lead research scientist Marcin Abram and head of research Jonathan Ward on researching and improving the consensus and incentive designs of Fetch.AI’s underlying ledger. He is also enrolled in online machine learning certifications from both Coursera and Udacity, with a focus on reinforcement learning.
