Machine learning specialist Tom Nicholson joins Fetch.AI

Fetch are delighted to announce the arrival of our newest member of staff, Tom Nicholson. Tom will be assisting us as Machine Learning Researcher.

After becoming fascinated by artificial intelligence as a child, Tom studied Computer Science at St Andrews, taking minors in Maths and Psychology. During his degree, he focused on the boundaries of AI and Human-Computer Interaction and his work in this field was later published.

Tom also holds an MPhil in Machine Learning from Cambridge University. While studying for his masters, he specialised in reinforcement learning and probabilistic modelling.

Since graduating, Tom has worked in AI-focused start-ups, where he has applied knowledge of deep learning, probabilistic modelling and reinforcement learning in areas such as natural language processing and automated trading. Tom has retained an interest in the latest developments in academia while remaining focussed on the technology’s practical applications. He is always seeking to develop novel ways to design, build and deploy innovative AI solutions to real-world problems. This desire is shared by everyone at Fetch. We look forward to taking the next steps together.
