The Burry Inlet is a large estuarine complex in South Wales between Penclawdd on the north coast of the Gower Peninsula and the south coast of Carmarthenshire. There is a different modern reality to picture-postcard memories and this ongoing project aims to document the area in the 21st century.

Mass mortalities of cockles in the estuary since 2002 have decimated the once thriving shellfish industry. The local MP has said that unless action is taken soon, there will be no cockle industry here in ten years; “people will move on and all the investment made in sea fishing will be lost”.
