Hydra, the biggest darknet marketplace in Russia and maybe even in the whole world, sets its sights to launching a massive ICO in order to expand and fund its illegal operations to more countries. Currently though, said marketplace only operates mainly around Russia and other surrounding nations but if they’re funded to get into countries like and penetrate the markets of the United States and the European Union, all hell will break lose.
Their coin offering is said to be worth $146 million at $100 a piece, which will go to the purchasing and disbursement of illegal drugs, funding terrorism, human trafficking and other financial crimes online. The good news is that the Russian police are already on the move and investigations on the matter are slowly moving forward, starting with the information already available to them as they track down each and every single criminal behind the huge illegal coin offering.
Experts say that should this certain criminal ICO commence without being stopped by government authorities, the situation would unfortunately but definitely lead to a whole new level of trafficking and financial crime in the Western parts of the world. However, multiple special agencies across several countries have already combined their best efforts to put an end this whole endeavor, not only for Hydra but for the entirety of the darknet.
In this age, movements from an illegal platform such as Hydra would not have been reacted to so severely, believe it or not. What usually happens is that most governments actually allow for these events to happen and would only start investigating after the fact because for them, letting it happen first would lead to better traceability and more evidence. With that said, such a large illegal enterprise spanning multiple countries and several continents even, is not a domestic issue that Russia’s governing body alone can handle.
