Japan Officially Certifies Two More Cryptocurrency Regulatory Organizations
There have been a lot of good news coming in on Japan’s cryptocurrency industry as of late as the country’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has just accredited two more organizations, giving them the prestigious title of “Certified Financial Instruments and Exchange Associations”.
Based on a very recent announcement which was held just yesterday, April 30th, the FSA has officially recognized the Japan Virtual Currency Exchange Business Association (JVCEA) and the Japan STO Association as self-regulatory groups. They are now legally acknowledged for security token offerings and other derivative transactions utilizing crypto assets. JVCEA in particular will be the official self-regulatory organization for the whole of the cryptocurrency industry in Japan, thereafter responsible for creating rules and regulations, as well as the policies and protocols to be followed for cryptocurrency exchanges in the country starting May 1st.
One of the new laws that every cryptocurrency enthusiast in Japan must abide to is the enforcement of the revised Financial Instruments and Exchange Law (FIEL), thereby requiring all crypto-related businesses involved in offering derivatives and trading to be registered as a “Financial Instrument Business” first and foremost before anything else. A wise decision indeed from the Japanese government to combat criminal activities using crypto to fund all their illegalities.
