Medium Post — Fiber Insight — Winter Update December 20, 2016
We hope everyone has had a very successful 2016. We’ve had a lot going on this fall and winter with much more planned for 2017, and wanted to bring everyone up to date.
First, our website has been completely redesigned to be more informational and friendly. We are excited about providing more online access to information about our courses, custom classes and services. Please let us know what you think and how we can continue to improve your online experience with FI. Check us out!
We are also pleased to announce even more opportunities to get certified via the globally recognized OTT CFCE fiber characterization and CONA optical network design certification courses. Through a partnership with Light Brigade, we now offer both CFCE and CONA through Light Brigade’s 2017 training catalog. We will continue to offer courses via FI direct and through Viavi Solutions, but now you can also register for our courses on Light Brigade’s website, and CONA and CFCE will be taught at their training facilities around the US. We believe having more choices is a good thing!
To help launch our collaboration with Light Brigade we are teaming with them on a two-part webinar series on Fiber Characterization (FC) through Lightwave Magazine. Part one was held December 1st when we defined fiber characterization and its various parts. Part two will be presented on January 18th. This webinar will begin with a brief review of the basic tests inherent to advanced fiber characterization. We then delve deeper into FC to look at advanced impairments and discuss when and why more complex characterizing testing such as CD and PMD are needed. You can register for the January webinar via this URL: http://www.lightwaveonline.com/webcast-listing.html
It’s been great working with so many of you since we started Fiber Insight. One of our life goals has been to operate our own business and help others increase their fiber talent to make fiber networks more awesome. Thank you for your continued support.
We wish you and your families a warm, safe, and happy holiday season. We look forward to seeing you out in the network!
