A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. Please stick around for 30 seconds and let me know you were here.

Paul sets the table with their finest silverware and china. Crystal glasses shine.

Mark dresses in his newest tuxedo, looking fantastically handsome as always.

Stan is mixing elaborate cocktails and lining them up on the sideboard.

All the necessary ingredients for a wonderful black tie dinner.

As the three men stand around chatting about their day, the wafting of roasting flesh drifts throughout the house.

Their dinner date is almost sizzled to perfection. Simon announces, “I hope she tastes as delicious as she looked when she first arrived, boys.”

With a little chuckle, he heads into the kitchen to serve.

This Drabble has been written in response to Fiction Shorts’ word of the day.

Please take the time to read another Drabble, written by the talented writer, Stephen Dalton.
