All aboard!” the conductor announced through the speaker at Edinburgh Central Station.

Ellie, 6 years old, was alone in the waiting area. Mother had not come back from the corner shop. She was told to stay put. But the train was leaving without them!

Why did she have to be the one to guard the two large wooden suitcases?

Suddenly, a kind, beardy stranger approached Ellie. “Need a hand, little one?” he asked, gesturing towards the suitcases.

Ellie nodded hesitantly. Suddenly, Mother arrived, laden with bags, rushing towards them. “Stay away from my daughter!” she exclaimed to the beardy man.
