A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.

The word of the day is TEMPT. The twist is the given last line.

We met at a bar in the middle of my wild era. You made a face when I ordered a whiskey.

“Not a fan?”

“I could be tempted.”

You were 5 feet if you were an inch. Mesmerizing. Your accent felt like home.

Later, in the mood for adventure, we stepped out of the car and our clothes. The lake was as deep as our cups had been, and just as cold.

You waited until we were waist-deep to tell me you couldn’t swim, so I just said, “Hold on” — and you did.

The moonlight danced on the water.

This story was inspired by the Random Word Drabble Challenge by Nancy Oglesby at Fiction Shorts.
