Beth wondered why mamma sent her to bed alongside her sisters during the Red Moon while her brothers frolicked all night long. In the morning, their wolfish grins screamed something their red-rimmed eyes couldn’t hide.
“It’s a shameless thing for a lady to be seen wandering the night on a Red Moon or any other night for that matter,” her mamma always enforced. “It’s a scandal that’ll redound not only to her detriment but to that of her family.”
But last night, Beth saw something beyond normal. Lady or not, even shame couldn’t stop her from exploring the night.
