Today’s genre: historical fiction

The Roman soldiers had a job to do, but they had to get it right.

“How will we know we have the right man?” they asked. “One day he looks just like us, but then…”

Judas had the perfect idea. Why had no one thought of it?

“Tell you what, and you can thank me later, how about I step forward and plant a big kiss on his cheek? Then you will know.”

“Wow, Judas. Up there for thinking. Who would have thought? You are one smart cookie.”

Had he chosen to become incorporeal, Jesus’ story could have been so different.

If you’re not already on board with writing drabbles, (short, 100-word stories, no more, no less,) do yourself a favour. Get stuck in! They are a lot of fun to write, but also serve as a lesson in tight writing, given the 100-word constraint.
