“Well, who’d have thought?” Edward sighed in inebriated delight. “Our subjects had the best time. What a great idea to have the fountains provide wine to celebrate our coronation.”

“As long as your subjects remembered to draw water yesterday.”

“Well if they didn’t it was their fault. I had the royal clerk pin informative notices about our coronation treat, everywhere.”

“I’m just saying that children shouldn’t have been drinking wine.”

“It was one day Beatrice. I’m sure most parents were keeping a firm eye on their children.”

In the Middle Ages in London, amazing for the times, plumbed water was actually a thing, and however they did it, for important days such as a Coronation, that water became wine.
