A Quick Trip Is All It Takes, Geoff
Drabble 304 | Sluggard
Today’s drabble challenge word is “sluggard”.
Today’s drabble challenge twist is to base the story on an image of a wooden lodge overlooking a lush forest.
Drabbles are short — only and exactly 100 words.
Whether you are delighted or dismayed by what you read, let me know you’ve been here by highlighting, clapping, and commenting! Thank you!
“OK, ladies and gentlemen, we’ll be arriving at our destination shortly. I hope you sluggards are ready to trek through some genuine Jurassic rainforest. It might even be familiar to some of you!”
The silver-haired tourists sit stony-faced.
Geoff grabs the medical kit at the wooden visitors’ lodge as they sign in, and sighs. Somehow, an oldie always falls over.
The hike unfurls them all and loosens up their limbs and tongues. Everyone is altered for the better by the time they return to the bus.
Only Geoff is limping. He tells no jokes on the return trip.
Thank you for reading my drabble. It was based on this fun prompt…
