…for Laura at least

Today’s drabble challenge word is surprise.

Today’s drabble twist is to include a poem (using the random word) that must be at least two lines long.

Drabbles are short — only and exactly 100 words.

If you enjoy (or loathe) what you read, let me know you’ve been here by highlighting, clapping, and commenting! Thank you!

Edward loved Laura’s new glow

Because after letting herself go

She’d listened and joined the gym

And now looked wonderfully trim!

He didn’t mean to be so cruel.

Harsh words were just a tool.

He’d jiggled her wobbly tummy

And said she was a crummy mummy.

Now they were both winners.

Ate no more stodgy dinners

A diet of protein and salad

She now looked well shredded.

Inspired by seeing her so healthy

He paid the gym’s joining fee

And decided to surprise her

By exercising beside her.
