Today’s random word is: glass

It was her favourite glass vase, Italian Marino glass he’d bought for her on holiday in Italy.

Now it lay on the floor, tiny shards of glass everywhere, but the main parts almost intact…almost!

She cried a river of tears. It was a wedding gift they could ill afford, a first and last gift, given he had died six months later.

She would never get over the loss, of him, or the vase.

But then she heard a voice, her husband’ s voice, whispering:

“Fix it. You know how.”

She dialed.

Akimitsu?”

“Yes it is!”

Are you still teaching Kintsugi?”

If you’re not already on board with writing drabbles, (short, 100-word stories, no more, no less,) do yourself a favour. Get stuck in! They are a lot of fun to write, but also serve as a lesson in tight writing, given the 100-word constraint.
