A drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. However, today’s challenge calls for a drabble and a half, which is 150 words.

Today is Twisted October Drabble Challenge #285. The random drabble word is bewitched, and you must write a witchy drabble and a half.

“Rachel! Great to see you!” Patrick lied, flashing his middle finger behind Lulu’s back.

I waved politely, smiling at Lulu’s idiot boyfriend. I didn’t want to upset my best friend.

“I’m so happy we can party together tonight. This is going to be a blast!” Patrick continued, kissing Lulu before turning toward me again.

I hate you, he mouthed while extending his arms for a hug. The feeling is mutual, I thought. Of course this psycho was rocking a Ted Bundy costume.

Lulu gazed at Patrick lovingly, bewitched by his fake charm, but I knew the truth. Patrick was a horrible person, and I was his karma.

“Where’re you going?” Lulu asked, watching me adjust my pointy black hat. I was done with this stupid Halloween party.

“The grocery store,” I replied, walking toward the door. I needed black candles and herbs. Patrick was getting a…
